Have to push the button several times?????You kidding me---YOU are a 355 owner, not some wussy Hybrid driver....:D:D

Then again you may chip a nail with all that extra pushing of the button..:D

Well if I drove my 355 only 1k miles a year it would not be a problem....... ;) ................. seriously though.... did your 'original good fob' need extra button pushes after the 'cloning'?? ............. and yes my manicure is very important to me... :D

Then again what was a new alarm ECU setup from Ferrari, wasn't it reduced to $700 or something? In Ferrari terms it's not all that bad to get 3 new remotes that work on the first button press.

Its not as much fun as tinkering though.... ;). I wonder where the PIN code is stored on the alarm unit itself? Maybe its an EEPROM that can be read just like the fobs??

As for new fobs, I believe ricambi sells fob sets for just under $500. I can always go that route.... I would just need to get the original PIN from the dealer.

Robbie and Eric ......... I may be wrong but I am suspecting the reasons for having to press the fob button more than once after cloning is......... the 'rollover' code sequence gets out of sync (obviously), but is there a way to track the rollover patern? It may be a major pain but if one read the 'good' EEPROM before using it, then again after using it. When looking at Eric's program on the screen, I couldn't help but think the number 'rows' may change 'sequence/location' everytime. When one could track the pattern changes then it may be possible to program the new fobs with those changes???

Yes I know I am crazy for thinking about this.............. so it just may be easier to go to the dealer and just pay up......... though not nearly as fun....

Gothspeed, I will be interested in your experience at the dealer. I have my PIN code. Planned to buy the remotes from Daniel and program myself. Unfortunately I cannot read 2 of the PIN numbers! I could leave this PIN code sheet on the dash and defy any thief to read and steal the car! I have a 6 that could be a 5, a 2(?) that may be 7, 8 or 9! You would have to see this Ferrari supplied document to believe it! I tried what I thought was the code to verify and got nowhere. Please let us know how the dealer handles your situation.

Need help! Has anyone successfully keyed in their PIN code per the Ferrari Factory Workshop Manual? I am trying to determine if the Factory Manual procedure is accurate. I am confident I can narrow the code down to a couple of digits but I am not sure the procedure is correct. I have read a couple of procedures written by 355 owners that deviate slightly from the factory procedure. What really works? Thanks for the help!

Hey guys, back from skiiing :)

To be clear, if you use only one remote, always the same as I do, it works as usual and you ahve to press it only ONCE each time. But from time to time (each month, each year, ...) you will have to exercise the clone and to press it SEVERAL times (depending how many times you have pressed the prime) in order to "resynchronize" it.
It is only when you swap from one remote to the other that you have to press it several times, not in normal use.

Thanks for the clarification Eric! I did not want a bunch of 'gimpy' remotes that need cajoling for 'every' use......

Anything new on the remote front? Can a red remote from another Ferrari be reprogrammed? Can the original PIN code be pulled from the black remote?
I have a black and red remote set from a 360. Would like to possibly have Eric program them to my 355 black remote if Eric is interested.

What do you mean exactly? you can assign this red remote to another Ferrari if you have the pin code. If not it can be cloned from another red or black remote.

No! The PIN code is not part of the black remote EPROM content

Yes, both can be reprogrammed to be 2 clones of the black F355 remote you have. PM me ...
