    Congrats ! Awesome Car !.
How did you import a 1994 model into Canada from the US ?. My understanding of the RIV rules are no ferrari newer than 1991 and then 2000 model year and newer. Refer to this link: http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/importation/VAFUS/list/FERRARI____see_notes_.htm
    So what's the magic ?

It is based on the build date. Not the model year. I brought a 93 348SS in last year. No worries. ;)

Now I have another reason to head to TO. ;)

Is that last picture a Roberto sandwich? Beautiful women, beautiful car, and that poop eating grin! I know the feeling. Congrats and welcome to the brotherhood. Leave it in the garage till the snow and salt are gone. Wax and detail in the mean time. I'll drive mine today for you. Any particular gear you want redlined, no problem, I don't mind. Your my brother now. I love those seats, I wonder if they give you more head and leg room than the stock seats. I could use some more head and leg room. O f course you have unlimited head room.

Build Date ?, Ok sorry for being such a NOOB!, (but that's why I reading everything on these forums) So how is that determined exactly ?
If you bought your 93 last year, by RIV rules, your car was built in 1990 ?. Is this typical of ferrari's ? I'm really confused now.. :(

Hey Roberto, I thought I'd mention that the seats you have are actually original 348 Serie Speciale or Challenge seats. Not too many cars have them, but there are some lucky owners out there who have them. Here's a pic of a 348 Serie Speciale also with these seats, for sale on a previous Ebay auction. Just thought you might like the clarification... I'm sure many 348 owners would love to have the seats, including me! Best of luck with your car.... Enjoy!

It's really quite simple you can import any Ferrari that is 15yrs or older by production date my car is a 94 but was built in March of 93 hence why I had to wait till march of 2008 you can also import some Ferrari 7 years or newer so cars that were allowed last year are not allowed this year stupid I know that's our Government what are you gonna do.

Just thought I would include follow ups, driving impressions, and driving experiences in this thread.

    Story
"Record" had the car out less than 15 min and I was pulled over...:D..

I was on a stretch of road that goes along the outside of our city known as the ring road I was taking my car to get a Federal inspection done anyhoo this was the first time I had a chance to open her up a bit so away we went and I swear I heard angels singing and all cars in front of me moved out of my way within seconds I'm at 120mph that's when my gal goes cop cop cop breeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaak!
I slowed down enough so as the police car merged on the road we lined up next to each other (nice), my turn off was coming up so I sped up gingerly past the police car and made my turn and so did he (****!)
Sure enough lights come on and I pull over he walks up and says "nice car you must have just got it that's why you don't have any plates on the car' I say " that's right but here are my permits" he says "you are suppose to stick them on the window" I reply " yes sir I know but I once had a problem with the adhesive not coming off of my Porsche plastic window(lie lie lie)so I don't want to take a chance you understand right?" he says "Ya I guess but next time the officer might not be as nice as I am have a good day" that was it he let me off with a warning PHEW! now that whole thing lasted no more than 3 min.
About an hour later I'm working on the car and I start getting phone calls saying that they are talking about me on the radio.
Sure enough our very popular stations two DJS were saying "We just saw a cool Ferrari pulled over what the hell is this guy doing driving a Ferrari in March I mean it's cold out there" then the other guy "well if I owned a Ferrari I would drive it year round too and maybe put snow tires on it"(how embarrassing)

Boy not even an hour out with the car and I make radio how cool is that next week I am going to drive by the station since there booth is street level and they have a large window so people can see them perform and I'm going to rev the engine to 8000rpm so it rattles there window that ill show em...:D

Great story -- I especially liked this part...

I've had that feeling before when I'm driving mine. Funny how I never experience that in my BMW... there's just something special about the Ferrari. :)

    Congrats on a great car.

Found out today that I do not need a Federal inspection just a Provincial a one and that means I do not need day time running lights...:)

Hopefully get the Provincial done this week.

Also found a few wonky electrical problems like my seat belt light activates instead of door ajar when I open the doors my central parking light switch worked when I first received the car now nothing, while we are talking about this feature what is it's purpose? also there are several in dash lights I need to replace.

Oh ya my driver side window does not work DON"T WORRY I know how to use the search function....;) I will only ask for help after I have exhausted all my options.

I replaced the original 50watt fog lamps with 55watt Xenon Eurolite bulbs they create a cool blue/white beam instead of the warm white beam looks 10x better
I also noticed that there is only one set of fog lamps instead of the two that are described in the manual I assume that this is the way North American models came with only one set, the inside ones.

Next I purchased new Xenon Eurolites for the low and high main beams I will replace some time this week and take pics of the difference.

Other than a few minor easy fixes (so far) she is awesome I can't wait to drop the top and go....:D

the drivers side window may just be a little slugish because of the cold temps.
I would wait until it warms up a bit to see if you have the same problems.

    Chas :)
