That's just the MSRP, it can be had for less (not a lot, but enough to matter). I don't think this one is going to end up like the Enzo/F40/F50 - going for ~$400...

    Here's the bottom line.
I am paying a bit of a premium to get these 288s flown in a good month or so before others, but at the end of the day, there is very little profit in these. YES you may find them in 6-12 months or even earlier being sold by someone in Hong Kong for $400 (which is, by the way, less than dealer cost)....but then you need to spend at least $100-$150 to fly the huge/heavy box in (and it may take weeks to get). You will then have to pay duties, customs, taxes and so on, usually at least comprising 20-40% of the price. And if you ask the vendor, usually someone working out of their basement, to put a small invoice value on the package, and it goes missing, then you are, as they say "s&*^ out of luck". Furthermore, if you do wait and find one cheaper off ebay or somewhere else far away...and it arrives damaged, missing a part, defective, etc. etc. you have no recourse 90% of the time. So at the end of the day, you have to ask yourself if the risk is worth it??

Are these worth $695? As a vendor of quality models that go as high as $50 000, I would have to say absolutely YES. There is an immense amount of detail in these, and 5/8 years ago when economies of scale were different I could see them easily selling for over $1000. Also keep in mind that the MSRP is higher than usual due to the very weak $USD.

I have already sold a few dozen of these since listing them here just 2 days ago. The first batch will sell out at my shop and most others that carry it. For those of you looking to complete the 1/12 SuperCar set at a reasonable price, this is it.

It's already very difficult to find the 1/12 Tamiya Enzos - even in red, especially in black. Many of these 1/12s are made but they are still 'limited'.

I'll wait for a cheaper one, $695 as MRSP is too much given my past experiences with Tamiya models, way too much.

I've sold over a hundred 1/12 Tamiyas with hardly any complaints...for those that can afford it, this is a great model.
