Could the "recession" plus the new model G hurt the current resale value on these early cars? Also, is there a significant price difference between the E-gear and the standard transmitioned cars?

    Keep wishing on that star.

As the experts above have already told you, it's not happening any time soon unless you want some repainted 30k+ mileage beater.

from what i have been told, wholesale is bumping right up against $105ish for some of the earlier cars. check the thread on the blue 2004 6 speed car with 15k for sale. you could probably buy that for $110k. remove the vinyl and put the stock wheels back on and your good to go, imho.

$100k and under is coming. how many are for sale on ebay ? how many were owned by employees of bear stearns ?

    What recession?

Go back 2000-2001, the markets ware even more all over the place, the Dot com boom had just exploded, dow was losing everyday, jobs growth was going the other direction, 911, World Comm, Enron..ect..ect...what followed? More peope bought exotic cars then any time before!!

As for the Egear Vs. Stick...Just like Ferrari and Porsche..The Sticks hold there resale better and sell faster...on the secondary markets...With Lamborghini manual is the higher demand...when you go to the 360 section and someone buys a stick it is what everybody wants! With pre-owned 9 of 10 are drivers...so the sticks appeal to them!

There sure are offers out there to buy cars wholesale at $105k but they are still too few and far betwwen to make a call that they can be bought for that...

12,700 is not high mileage in my book...............I put 7000 miles on my 06 in 6 months. And the car ran alot stronger when I got rid of it than when I got it.

i don't see how 3,000 miles per year can be considered 'high-mileage'. i'll agree the interior color doesn't do it for me or probably most people, but assuming the PPI pans out that looks like a good price.

just b/c you get a good price on a car doesn't mean it has a story - there was a discussion on here about that red 360 spyder that sold recently in florida for what, $90K? everyone said it had to have a story until the PPI came back clean - sometimes people just sell stuff for less than market pricing.

i've been looking a bit for a 04 myself....i'll agree that most egear low-miles non-story cars are around $125K, but if someone wants to sell quick i'd say $115K seems reasonable. someone listed one here in this subforum recently for that....black on black 6-speed with 15k miles for $115K. One car does not make a market but don't make the blanket statement that you can't get a good one for that kind of pricing.

    How is 12,700 high?

^ it's people, like this that give high-mileage cars a bad name, when Ferraris and Lambos can EASILY cross 100k without any major problems. These are the kinds of people, who kill resale value for those, who actually drive their cars, instead of just waxing them all day, and looking at them through a window.

Why not just wrap the whole car with the material, that's used in clear bra? Then the car wouldn't scratch...

and what's wrong with the color? not outrageous enough?!? Silver is usually for the people, who don't want to show off (even though, if I buy a Lambo, it would be Verde [lime green] or orange], and the interior with the orange seats is pretty neat....

There are currently 333 Gallardo's for sale on DupontRegistry.com. I would truly think that if you had an 04-05 and really needed to sell than you would almost have to ask in the high 100's to sell it. A friend of mine has a 308 that is almost at 100K miles and it still runs very strong.

    Gosh here we go again!!

Of course you all know, miles mean CRAP to me..If it is taken car of well and driven like it should be ...it WILL last..

if you put black tape over the ODO and asked someone to drive it and score it...they would die when you rip the tape off and reveal "high" miles OMG

BUT what really kills me every day, IS WHY do people buy 300K cars when they think they are not worth CRAP after they reach say 10K miles??

Are you not beter off buying 10 Toyota's at 30K each, drive them to 10K miles and thow them away...

COME ON...if these cars were not made to be driven and last if cared for, dont you think by now the buying public would have stopped buying them?

When was the last Miura you saw go for high dollars with ONLY "low" miles, the last LP 400, the last DD CT...and soon the last Diablo 6.0, Yes less numbers than the G and the M car...but still running strong as hell with a LOT LESS new technology..

OH yea I forget..."but if I drive it" it will loose money...

THEN do not FRIKIN BUY IT!! Go buy some sub-prime loans and enjoy those as they go up in value.......???????????????????????

I think they sell their cars at or below 10,000 because they are avoiding the cost of the 1st major service. I just sold my 328 GTS and now waiting for the LP560-4. Anyways......I bought my 328 with 23,000 miles for $52,000 and sold it for $51,000 with 30,000 miles on it one week after I listed it because the car was in immaculate condition. Keep in mind this is a 21 year old car that was only made for three years. No one cared about the miles. I would much rather buy a car with miles on it then a garage queen any day. Eventually your going to have to get the service done on it anyway. I know there is a big difference in Dolllars between the Gallardo and the 328tgs but the idea is still the same. lee

This a huge issue with the Gallardo and the 360! Not to sound bad, but over the last couple of years, alot people bought after making there frist million a 360 or Gallardo. Alot (but not all) could not afford the cars, or did not have the undertsanding about the service on these cars, and if they did for whatever reason alot did not have the serivce done, and instead opted to short sell there cars...Dealers have bought some of these cars, but many many more go on the market at low low blow out prices, in turn giving the prespection that cars are losing value and losing fast! "Someone else can buy the service, and besides I am saving them so much money they can afford it" The issue is that they forget to tell or down play the need for service...buyer end up getting a car at a super low price that needs 5 or 6 campaigns done, maybe 2 services, no manuals or records, and when it is all said and done the buyers end up spending as much as if they bought that more expesive car...As talked about, miles I am not so concerned about as long as the I have the service records from new, and have gone through the car...I have avoided major issues, a shock here and there, or updated serivce on a MY03 Murcie, but only because I know what i have, what i have sold, and what going to buy next...

I know there was mention in this thread about the red spider that sold for $90k....That was a fire sale and the former owner had too sell...good deal but not the norm! Everything I talked about here I have seen with the 360's and the Gallardo....

First service on the Gallardo is only about $1200 and covers it through 15k miles when you have the second which might cost $2k, that's probably half of what most people pay in insurance, so I don't think that's the issue. If you need a clutch however, that's a few grand, and tires, etc.

Dave you would think! But like I said, they either did not know, did not care, or they just didn't have it done...more like a chevy or Daily Driver car..most people forget or never have there services done on time or at all...Thats why manufactors can levergae the risk that some will...most do not!
