    I have this 85 Mondial Coupe and it needs 4 new Michelin TRX's, only the spare is good. They're size 240 55 390, my question is, will 220 55 390's fit on this wheel?
    I've found a new set of 220's locally significantly cheaper than coker.

    Hi naccer I think this would look quite strange(no offence) especially the rear end and definetely alter the steering setup and balance of the car, making the tyres wear unevenly. You could probably do it, but you would have to alter the suspension geometry. you may also expose the rims to be damaged easier! IMO

    My '83 Coupe had 220s on it when I bought it, so yes they fit. There is a difference in diameter. I then went to 348 17" wheels. Seems to me that the trx tires rode better than P-O's. Better check the date of MFG as they may be "new" old stock.

    the mondial 3.2 had the 180TR 390 wheels front and rear with 220/55 VR 390 on front and 240/55 VR 390 on back (same dimensions as m8 or qv wheels)or could be had with 7J x 16 front wheel, 8J x 16 rear wheels with goodyear eagle 205/55 VR 16 NO front tyre and 225/55 VR16 NO rear tyre .

    They would fit, but the tires would be stretched out a bit. If you call Coker ask for Jerry at ext. 256, I give discounts to all the FChat folks.

    Thanks for the input. Obviously, I'd prefer to go with the regular size. There was a Mondial at RM Amelia last week with near new TRX's sold for 27k. I definitely coveted those tires!

    Neal I have 4 tires on the rims and a spare almost new 240-55-390 that i dont need anymore
