Hello - I'm new to the board and just subsribed at the Rossa level. But I have wanted a Ferrari since I first saw one in the late 1970s. I've been saving 'extra cash' and selling off junk on Ebay over the past year or so, and finally last month had enough to start SERIOUSLY looking. I was disappointed with the search from the Seattle Ferrari dealer and Park Place Ltd. - in 2 months not a single lead. But then last Saturday I found this one on Ebay: www.enw.cc/ferrari - after an hour on the phone with the seller, I bought a ticket to DC and flew out Monday to see, inspect, and drive it. The seller is wonderful to work with - I didn't want to do an Ebay deal, but Lou made it a pleasure in every way. OMG!!! I don't think I could have found a better example at this price ($44.5K). The miles are higher (66,318 as of today) than I would have wanted, but it has a full documented Major at 63K (done last August), plus full maintenance records back to 1992. The owner is an Italian fanatic and has taken impeccable care of it since he bought it. It's just simply spotless inside and out, runs tight and solid in every way, shifts perfectly, runs straight on at speed - again, it's about as nice a 328 as you'll ever see for that price! Anyway, now I'm on needles and pins until it gets here (week from Saturday). I paid for top-notch shipping in a sealed heated truck, so it should arrive from it's 3000 mile journey in top shape. But I'll be a regular here and I'm so happy to finally own my own Ferrari! Now to take on the huge responsibility to keep it as perfect as the day I bought it! What Tillman said - plus this: That may be absolutely one of the most amazing 66,000+ mile 3x8s I have ever seen (as far as overall condition)!!! Of course, aside from Tillmans car of course of course...
Congratulations, looks like a beautiful car. And just in time for spring, too!! Like you, I'm a rookie as well, just got my first F-car back in December, an '89 328, and the only question I've been asking myself since is "Why didn't I do this years ago?"
Welcome to the "CLUB"! There is nothing like when that truck will pull up, they will unload it, and than it is all yours. That first hour of just driving your first Ferrari to burn hydrocarbons is one of the top 10 things in life for a car enthusiast. Enjoy it until you can't take any more.............
Congrats!!!! Welcome to F-chat Dont forget to post photos of the day she arrives. Enjoy it in good health
Well, I was born in '61, so I didn't really notice cars in a big way until 1973. My 'first love' would have been a TR-6! But the very first time I saw a 308, I KNEW I wanted one. Just took me 30 years to do it! Dave
