Steely Dan and that Thomas Dolby song... "Give me the keys..." How does it go? "Don't want your love...Don't want your money...All I want is the keys to your red Ferrari!"
If and when I actually have the radio on, I listen to the same thing I do in all my cars... XM 41.. BONE ME!!
Elisha Cuthbert in the early 2000's was my ideal woman. I generally prefer brunettes but something about her in the movie The girl next door did it in for me, and i've had a huge crush ever since. Some other stuff of hers on google + my avatar blown up: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
In the 456, I usually listen to classical music. In the Boxer, I don't generally turn the radio on. Same for the 365.
In the 456 ---- Puccini & Verdi In the 308 ---- Nothing... It's got a wide open Borla exhaust, so nothing can be heard over that...
In one and a half years of 328 ownership I have NEVER turned the radio on ... Found out a month ago that it didn't work I was trying to listen to Pink Floyd, Coming Back to Life
On a Family trip to Vegas, we rented an 355 Spider for 24 hours. My youngest Daughter, 15 years old at the time (Aug. 02), went nowhere without tunes (radio/walkman) So I tell her, " I'll turn on the Radio so you can here some music". to which she replied: " No Dad!!!.. I like the sound the motor makes!!!"
When I picked up my car it had a nasty looking tape player installed, so I removed that and fitted an up to date Alpine with ipod control, fitted new sub in behind the passenger seat, for the first wee while I used the stereo regularly, I realised on a drive yesterday that I had not turned it on in ages, might have to take her out today and make sure the stereo still works
Uh, I think that falling asleep while driving is discouraged. . .and, in a Ferrari, it's nice to be able to get out of first gear!
mine has the "original" blaupunkt (same model as the one I had in my old Triumph incidentally) and has non-original Tubi. Simply put, Tubi + Carb'd 308 = All the music you need. I had considered putting in a new stereo then realized what a waste of money that would be.
Or, if you have a 612, you could play the Sinatra version: Boooooooorrrrrrrrrrnnnnnnn. . . . . . .dooooooobbbbbyyyyyyyyy. . . . . . . . . . . .wwwwwwwwiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiillllllllldddddddddd. . . . . . . .dddddooooooobbbbbyyyyyy. . . . .ddddoooo. .
Well, the craptastic original mega-valued Pioneer in the Boxer is actually painful, adept in it's ability to butcher anything, so like most things worthwhile, I pick from what's in my head. For some reason, possibly the connection to an era, or fit to the attitude of the car, most Pink Floyd floats naturally through my mind, even the more recent stuff. ESPECIALLY the more recent stuff - 20+ years between the car's birth and hitting the studio, and they couldn't fit better together, more so if it's a clear, full moon.
I just got the 308 out for the first ride of 2008 today (long New England winter this year). I put a new audio system in the car during the "off" season. The first song I played today as I hit the road was "Dance the Night Away" by Van Halen. Hey, what can I say... I'm an 80's guy... guess I don't want to let my youth slip away just yet.
Itunes mix ... burned to CD for those times I am in the TR but not moving. Otherwise, see last line of my signature... Image Unavailable, Please Login
What do I listen to on the Freeway? Nothing. The car is too loud, and that's the point. My radio is only good for using if stuck in traffic and you need to take your mind off of what is going on. Jim
Weber and the Jets, ZF and the five speeds, The Tubi brothers, The Venturis.... I dont have a radio in my car so I have to make up stuff if I get really bored. Though I just cant imagine being that bored driving a Ferrari. I have been seriously considering a mobile ham radio though.
