I can buy several sets of these and ship them to other countries. I was waiting to see if this would work out before I did this. If anyone wants some let me know. I would ship them postal air first class. Shipping should be $5-$10 or so.

    I ordered them here:
    http://www.xpel.com/products/universalhl.asp
Part #H9905 (at the top of the page).
I don't know if they will ship overseas, but if not Send Rodney (Mera) a PM and he can order it and forward it to you.

Now that I see this stuff works well I will be buying some for my 348. So anyone that wants me to order and send you some in another country let me know soon so I can place an order. We still have snow on the ground so I am not in a hurry. :)

    Thanks

Someone should buy a bunch of this stuff, cut it and sell it in a "ready to stick" format....

For those of us who are short on time :)

    I'm first in line :D :D

BT, now all you need to do is test it ... take a small pebble and hurl it at the fog lamp. Report what happens next. :D

I already know. I missed the fog lamp and made a nice scratch on the hood of the car. I tried that out in my mind. No thanks!

Then later replace everything behind the bumper with a 355 :)

We can and do supply this film out of the UK

In fact we did a charity do for The other place on a large number of 355's last year :)

We would do a pattern for the car but so far the owners that have mused about it wont bring their car over to do a design :)

Otherwise we can ship the film out by the foot.

    Cheers

    Tom

    Tom,

I'm not so far up the road from you and would probably be able to bring my 348 TB down for you to measure if that's any help.

Like others on here, I know I would never get around to doing the stencil and cutting, but would use some that were ready cut.

Slightly o/t, has anybody come across a 348 that has plexiglass covers for the main lights instead of pop-ups ... similar to F40/512M?

If you jump to the website noted above they actually do sell pre-cut. I just ordered for the 355 and 360, so will report back when the bits arrive here in oz. Link below to the 355 detail:

I did mine last week with film from:

    http://www.lamin-x.co.uk/

It's quite thick so should give some protection. Expensive for what it is, but the thought of chasing round for a lamp at silly money is worse. Worse still would be having to put a 355 bumper on (shudder...). I just cleaned the lights, stuck it on and trimmed the edges with the supplied knife. A bit of hairdryer heat helped form the curves.

Give me a buzz, I have had 3 or 4 discussions with owners and said just bring me a car and I will sort this no problem :)

However I guess the winter intervened so they were all put to bed :)

Thanks Tom. It might be a while before i can get down as most weekends in April are already filled! But I will give you a call first.

I quite like the idea of those yellow films from lamin-x actually! And, i would be tempted to do the main lights too as one the run down to Spain in the spider I managed to get a rock through both L/H fog and R/H pop-up!

A friend of mine has just made some polycarb lens covers.
Fitted one today and it works perfectly.
Old glass was difficult to get out, but was made easier as glass was broken, making it easier to grip and cut out.
I also tested an offcut for stone chip resistance by firing a 22 airgun pellet at it from 15ft away. It just left a slight mark!
So looks like we have a runner.

    more soon.
