Just got it back from Gulstrand, he installed a new intake, long tube headers, billyboat exhaust, 390 gears, and a rollbar Gulstrand said I could get another 50 hp out of it so she could be at 560 or 570 hp My gf hates it, she says its too loud and too uncomfortable, I told her I would swap it for a Prius Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looks good, I like the roll bar. Hope to see it soon. You know, you can just leave it here with me, when you move back east .
I'll be at VCR on Sunday, you'll probably hear me 1/2 mile away Havent really felt any change in stiffness but I haven't really given it a workout yet
Yes for now, This summer I'll see if I can add an F50 brake kit some racing seats, harnesses Maybe some better shocks
What headers, Kooks? I have them on my car, LSx engine as well. And they are LOUD. As for the brakes, does it really need an upgrade? If so, maybe the new ZR1 setup?
Will, I have a specific question. I have serious track car angst. Current E36 M3 too slow down the straights (I am SO tired of riding people's bumpers through the curves but not being able to pass them on the straights). Cayman S (first day on the track was today) has numerous issues, even though it is a great car. I have been thinking about a T1 prepped C5 or C6 Z06. My local race shop guy (while saying that either choice will ultimately be very fast) has cautioned me, saying that the 'Vette steering feel will totally bum my high compared to German and Italian offerings. Comments?
you think the guys in the bimmers & porsches say " Well his steering sucks" as they get lapped by a C6 Z06 ?
Nope. First, I respect your opinion, and was hoping you could give some comparision comment. Second, the person that made the comment is long time SCCA racer, and was just trying to give me info to help me make a choice I'll be happy with (since it is difficult to drive a range of cars "just to check them out" on the track). As he said (and as I said in my post above)--the Corvette will be very fast. BUT, since I am not racing, I can afford to give up a little lap time here or there for a car that for whatever reason appeals to my senses more. Last, there was no disrespect intended to the Z06--they are monsters and amazinglly capable cars.
Yes, still drive it on the street. In april I'll add a big brake kit and maybe upgrade the interior a little w some alcantara and some racing seats & harnesses Thats probably as wild as it will get Image Unavailable, Please Login
So true, same old BS from that crowd. Who cares? I've never had an issue tracking any Corvettes. The steering's a bit numb? Oh, well. It doesn't hinder me from making the thing go fast.
Guess you don't know what kind of headers you have.... I wouldn't chrome the wheels, paint them competition grey.
Nah, the ZR1 is heavier, the Z06 is more the track rat The ZR1 is more for techies who want all the bells & whistles The Z06 is more the stripped down fighter A few mods on the Z06 & it will smoke a ZR1
