There are actually two different treatments as these posts indicate...my black ones are anodized. All my painted ones are matching the body color....
Car was from germany and the louvres were pretty sandblasted. I had a paint shop so Itook em right off first thing and chem striped them and found that they look just like BB. Mothers polish and they look super, and correct. You do have to take em off and polish again buts thats easy. As usual sammie Cars louvres were given a treatment, like bead blasted and anodized so you cant do them BB style. Also my windsheild post are red which is very much nicer than the flat black found on USA models. That spoiler looks different than my stocker deep dish, ? I think euro QVs are going to be collectable soon as they are PURE. All the bumper cover cars are lacking in sincerity because of regulations that forced the Factory to design with bumper covers and that is convoluted.Who knows what the Cars would be like if they had no more regulation then 1967 MY.I would like to post pics but dont know how,new to computers. thanks all
Here's a photo of my Euro in front and LouGaudio's Euro in back for comparison. I'm going to return my louvers to red as Ferrari intended for the Euro. A prior owner painted mine black. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yours looks better, IMO. (I'm very tall, so I tend to see the whole car at once. Try parking your car under a balcony and looking straight down at it from the top. You'll see what I mean about the theme of black louvers over the engine being echoed at the front of the car.)
Both with 16s,remember the context of that year of production,288,TR,1984 rules,I dont run the pass mirror,I use 2 chrome screws to secure the mirror mounting plate and a wurth rubber plug. RVMs are stupid on any Car and before Sam the Cars didnt have them.I have a talbot on my door for inspection, but take it off after I get my sticker.I hate walking around that stupid appendage, euros have way better RVMs than sammies, they weigh 2.25,euros 2.0 and got the tiny nose badge. 328s are nose heavy and while great lookin are not PURE.
I have mine set high like the front Car,works best. I wondered if BB single wiper would bolt in,its a low mount, maybe with a short blade? Those Cars fit in so tight they only paid one meter.
So, Chairpilot...... did the poll help you make your decision? What did you choose to do? Just curious... Ed
Thanks to all for voting in my pole. I have not made a final decision yet but I'm edging towards red for authenticity. Besides, it does not look bad at all. I just finished fitting my new spoiler ready for painting. See my next post on the pictures. Bob R.
