I just sold my 59' Marquis and bought a Cobalt 302 which is a 32 footer powered by twin 496 HO motors (425hp) each. She should run somewhere in the mid 60's. I'll be keeping her in the Channnel Island Harbor.

    Anyone else into boats???

This is what she'll look like. It won't be ready until May 25th.

I'm not in your section but I like boats. The Cobalt looks great, but I'm curious why you let the Marquis go?

I have a 2006 38' Regal Express Cruiser (for sale- low hours, very well maintained) and a 2002 18' Electric Duffy Boat, both at my home in Newport Harbor. Had a 56' Navigator Motoryacht, until it caught fire and was a complete loss. So yes, I would say I'm into boats....

It's long story, but for the most part it has to do with after 5 progressively larger boats, my wife still got sick every time we took a trip. We also have kids with 2 brand new Grand kids and the boat just didn't sense for them.

So...we bought a house on Silverstrand Beach, and a fun boat for me to play with. I couldn't be happier with decision, especially when I get my toy.

Love Newport. One my favorite destinations. I also owned a 42' Navigator. Jewels Marshall builds a great boat.

    Congrats....

I was just curious if it was an issue with the boat.

Awesome, enjoy her. I had a Tiara 3100 for about 7 years and grew up on a Skipjack Flybridge. Love the water! :)

Here's a go fast boat. This was last year at Lake Havasu with twin 900hp motors. This year we'll have twin 1200's. Should do about 150.

Congrats on your new water toy. A fast car and a fast boat, the best of both worlds.

Yeah, we enjoyed the Navigator, only had it for 6 months before we lost it. Shore cord caught fire, by the time harbor patrol got to our dock, it was too late. We were going to stay on the boat that night, they said the fire moved through so quickly we would have never made it out alive. Funny thing is that my father in law had just retired from the fire department, and we were home that night, but never heard or saw anything until the firefighters (his old coworkers) came to our door to see if we were all home!

We have loved the Regal, but we mostly just cruise around Newport Bay in the Duffy the "Current Obsession", so we have it on the market. Just aren't using it enough to justify keeping it. Here are some pics of our Navigator and our Regal the "MIKEY II". Of course there is the new Marquis at Bayport Yachts that we have our eye on!

Boats are just one of those things. They absolutely make no sense what-so-ever, but some of us just can't get them out of our system. I've loved them since I was a little boy and can't seem to get enough, no matter how much money I spend.

Love the Offshore racers!!! When I set out to buy this one, I really wanted a Cig, Donzi or some other REAL go fast boat, but it just give me the blend of cruise around the channel with the wife and kids, and blast over to the isalnds with the boys I was looking for. So...I compromised.

    Hopefully I won't be sorry.

You will enjoy the Cobalt, we looked at them before buying the Navigator, we were originally looking for a bay boat with a head, but ended up going a little larger with the 56'! Bring the boat down and come visit us in Newport this summer!

Ps- sorry to disappoint, I'm a chick :)

Sorry about that. It's all good! I'm just not sure the wife would be cool with it, but you never know.

Thanks, but, unfortunately, I'm just a broke azz fool who works a 9 to 5 and can only afford 1 exotic toy at a time.

I sold the F2 Cigarette in 2004 ... it was my second Cigarette which came after a Donzi and before that a Fountain.

Since the boats, it's been a GT2, 360 Modena and now a Stradale.

    Ain't that the truth :)

A $3k-$5k major service on a Ferrari almost seems laughable
