Unfortunately I will have to miss this tech session. I put in for a turkey permit last fall with some other guys. Our lottery drawing is for that weekend. I don't know what i will do if I actually shoot a turkey? Could be lunch?

For crimp type bands? No I sure don't. The bands that came with the cv joint boots I bought the last time, came with stainless steel bands that are installed with common hand tools. The crimp type tools are common. You may be able to pickup one up at a NAPA store.

I'll check with my guys if anyone has a banding tool. Our Tech lock their boxes, so please bring your own tools. We will turn the compressors on for air.

    Hello guys!

Any chance that the tech sessions can include stuff geared towards cars other than the 308? I know that this is the model most own, so its convinient...

But what about a generic tech session on:

    Detailing
    Motor refinishing/plating
    Dash recovering
    Buffing out scratches
    doing paint touch ups
adjusting vlaves (perhaps if the shop has another motor already out)
    doing leak downs
    cpmpression readings
    applying protective film
    refinishing worn leather
    etc.....

I would ask for more testarossa stuff...but figured I would be in a minority ;)

    Great idea!
We welcome anyone willing to "step up to the plate" donating their free time & expertise (on something other than a 308) to plan, organize, and lead such a tech session. A donor car and or other support material would need to be secured as well. If you know this special someone, please post or forward a PM.

Sorry you weren't able to make it Norbert.

Many thanks to our hosts Gerry Geraci, and the Car X shop on Ogden ave in Westmont. Their hospitality, and the use of their shop was great.

    Thanks again..

Thanks for all of your help Dave. Its was a fun time and the weather cooperated! We were glad to host the session and would be happy to host the group again. I always learn something new at these meetings.

I forgot my camera, but Andreas and John took pictures. I expect to see them here shortly.

    Gerry,

Thanks for hosting the tech session. Dave thanks for providing information and your experience. I learned several things.

    1. Alternative uses for a turkey baster (one-man brake bleeder).
    2. My wheel is okay, only had too many weights on it.
    3. The "diaper" is actually the only thing Ferrari made easy to remove and install. :D

    Here are a few shots.

Pictures posted above. Sorry, it took so long, I had difficulty uploading the pictures.

It was a good time. Dave didn't fall asleep on top of his 308 engine, he was just reaching around to get at the front valve cover bolts, a contortionist's dream come true.
