Depending on the brand, the spec can vary from market to market so it makes exact comparisons difficult. State taxes can also confuse the picture.

 

I used the GT2 because Porsche use the same site design globally and the on-road prices are listed on each page. The link I posted has links to every country's price page - of course there'll be differences in the end, but it gives a good indication of where we stand on such cars in the worldwide market.

The price of the car itself is comparable to Germany or something, but the govt slaps a 180% tax to put a licence plate on it, hence the AUD$920k on-road price.

Taxes are usually the main variable between markets. In low taxing markets like the US, early buyers often have to pay more than list due to market pricing by dealers - which makes me feel a little better.

 

Someone should make you a offer. I'm fantasizing as I'm out of the market now but what a car!
