I'm still happy for RK, but I think Massa is gonna blow right by him in the first turn.

Qualifying is a joke. They need to eliminate the fuel restrictions. Run light, run fast, and if you get pole it's not because Kimi has 200 pounds more fuel than you do!

    Amen, like it used to.

Also an extra championship point for pole AND another for fastest race lap will encourage drivers to push hard! We need to stop this driving around for points mentality that is the modern F1.

to be frank, nothing's great about missing quali. the same guys get bumped out of Q1 & Q2. then, it's either Ferrari, BMW or Mclaren on pole. qualifying is more of a strategy now, rather than the fastest man being on pole. actually, now since the 120% (?) rule is out, why can't they just draw numbers to see from P1-P22?

it saves costs, and i's helluva more exciting to see Vettel or Sato in pole ;)

    lol...

all i'm saying is, i don't really care even if i missed qualifying. Kubik missed pole in Aussie, and it was just a matter of time he;d get it. and then there's Ferrari & Mclaren. everything is just so predictable. only if it was a wet quali, then it's something..

I think you guys are nuts! The knockout system, especially in the last minute and even moreso after the timer is off, is more exciting than the race on many weekends. Remember Malaysia last year when Kimi, Hammy, Alonso, and Massa all finished within 20 seconds of each other after the timer went off, changing the polesitter four times within the same time span? That was great to watch. It also builds great suspense seeing the sector 2 times and waiting for them to come across the line.

Regarding the forum rules, I think you guys are nuts! There are several of you on here, many of whom are twice my age, acting like preteen girls because you aren't getting exactly your way. I expected that younger people would be more 'addicted' to the internet and message boards, yet here I am, 17, and I can manage to stay off Ferrarichat for long enough to watch a prerecorded race! I watched the Malaysian Grand Prix last Sunday, seven days after it first aired, and yet I managed to stay away from here and preserve the thrill of watching the race. If a teenager can have the self-control to stay off a website, I'm sure you guys can as well.

Nothing will change as long as BIG money is involved.

There is a HUGE cross-parallel between money coming into the sport vs. the sport showing on broadcast TV.

I've been a huge advocate of a F-5000 series and a revival of the Can-Am series as long as I have been a member on this website, and you don't need 1000 hp to have one helluva series.
My theory is whatever part you have on your car has to be commercially available to everyone - and that means you and me. You don't need one-off parts to be bloody fast.
There is a reason why ALL of us here LOVE the Can-Am series of 1966-1971 - until Mr. BigBucks came in and killed it. As much as I like the Captain, Mr. Nice and the Panzer Porsche, that is ultimately what really killed the series.
For a comparison, think of F1 today with Ferrari, but without McLaren, Renault and BMW.
