Good points, but for me, the AWD is not something I would like to have, its just not as much fun in my book. I think for a daily driver Id prefer to have an M3. The ultimate performance isnt equal to the GTR though. The GTR, like the Corvette Z06 is one helluva bang for the buck.

    best regards,
    Jerry

Its not a traditional AWD and like no other system, you can actually drift it (just like the original R34 GT-R), its actually rear biased.

Honestly, drive one before you discount it, I did and I bought one!

Id rather have a GTR, a SRT-10, C6, Challenger, hell even an 09 Camaro than a Porsche unless its a CarreraGT.

The GTR should be matched up against the base F430 not the scud.

He was a bit aggressive but your response didn't really help either.

Come on guys, chill. The GT-R is a great car, the Scud is a great car. Just accept it and stop the mud slinging...

As much as I hate to say it some people on this board really exemplify the whole a few bad apples really ruin the whole bunch saying. 90% of the people on these boards are accepting and willing to view the world from outside the seat of their fcar. But some of the others take the viewpoint that nothing will ever beat or compete with a ferrari and that is that. It was fun to have a debate about the whole value earlier in the thread but it seems like the bad apples have gotten to this thread and brought their unforgiving attitudes with them. Whence the mudslinging...

Having driven a few high power Nissans, AND owning a Ferrari... I can assure that what you percieve as "ignorance" is really the board in your eye. Try owning a Ferrari and you will see why nothing else matters. Not ignorance - enlightenment.

There is no doubting that this new Nissan is an outstanding piece of machinery which is more than capable of besting not just Ferrari's but almost all other mainstream exotica.

But let's get serious...........how many of us would choose the GTR over Ferrari .......maybe to complement but not replace.

I for one am not the slightest bit concerned......good as the Nissan may be I have never and will never aspire to owning a Nissan.

You are pissing into a wrong bucket my friend.
No hate here toward GT-R just stating the facts,I am intimately familiar with Skylines since early 90s and I truly appreciate them for what they are.
GT-R is a terriffic bang for the buck and I will get one as a daily driver this Fall but the fact is that while it is extremely competitive at lower speeds (sub 100mph)it is not so impressive at higher speeds where while not the best ,is still adequate.

Good for you if you can treat both cars as civics. Some of us cannot or are unwilling.

So what happens in a year when a better performer comes out for less money? Seems like the only thing the GTR has is "performance numbers". And... like technology, if it's not the latest & greatest, then what good is it?

This is where Ferrari has the advantage.

There will always be better cars coming out in the future. Its the NOW that is important. I may not live to see the next technologically advanced super car... so I live for today. :)

99% of people will not and have not the experience to drive any of these cars to their threshold. A cars worthyness IMO is based on its track potential, longevity, build quality and experience it provides, amongths aesthetic appeal most Ferrari's have the potential when tuned, to hang with most new cars thats what makes it special.

Cars are made to be driven, sad that alot of Fcars are garage queens. Or are you into the myth that Ferraris would melt in the rain? :)

Love it how you play these numbers to favor your cause.

The Porsche GT2 RS is a special edition EDO competition on a salad diet and with adrenaline boosters.
The Porsche GT2 997 is on semi-slicks tires and is worth twice as much as the GTR.

Get over it, the GTR is one of the best bang for the buck car out there, period.

I really do not believe this: all this ricer b**it in F forum. This was the same in P forum also. I don't believe we are buying & driving Ferrari's cause they are the fastest car's on the street, or best combo price & performance way. Period. I think this is just this talks some one has to make to justify buying a Nissan rather than F car.

I would never ever change or even consider changing the F car to this or any other Nissan 'cause it is or could be faster...NEVER. Because it is a Nissan. To be one of the bililon's having Nissan.

I really hope this forum is not starting to overflow these ricer threads stating the superiority of GT-R as happened to some P Forums.

As someone stated earlier, F car is about branding & lifestyle, not just speed. This is something You must experinece through having own F car, not only looking for the numbers on track.

As seen in track times in ring, if You want best bang for the buck car out there it is Radical. But this is not why people & us are buying Ferrari's.

I really hope the focus will go back to the cars F430, Scud & other Fcars deserve.

F430 was introduced in 2004. We will see it's replacement 2010 and this will be the car making new border's on performance. Wait & see. Till that day, I do not kill my self if Nissan is passing me on the street.
