The one crucial lift at the entrance arrived from the factory in China not as ordered. They are remaking it. I will send an engineer to Guangzhou to inspect on Tuesday as I don't want another f__k up. Should be finished by the end of the month. I will post photos once cars are in. I will be in Tahiti and Hawaii during the first half of April so will not probably have time to get set up until the later part of April. Am very happy with the garage and greatly looking forward to getting my little fleet assembled in one place. I will invite my HK fchat friends over for a little celebration

Well today is March 31 and my end of the month estimate for completion proved optimistic. Lift still in transit. Should be here tomorrow and hoping to have everything finished in a week to 10 days. One thing I am very happy about is the waterproofing works. Our weather has turned wet and the humidity level in the garage has remained unbelievably low. No need to even run the dehumidifier yet. It is spooky when you go inside as the air is so dry and fresh. My tools and motorcycle lift have arrived.

Thanks. It has been big fun. I have one wall that is 170' long by 15' high and I spent some time today designing hooks for hanging paintings industrial style. One advantage of the delay is that I have had more time to fart around with little things

My son and I are both dogs so it is where we will go to chill out. Name works in Western sense too as in "banished to the dog house". Glad you like the Chinese name - spent a lot of time thinking about this. It probably better fits my interest in art than cars. Anything that literally translates doesn't have a very good meaning in Chinese

The long awaited lift is almost finished and the factory FINALLY got it 100% right. It is much much better than what i was originally expecting so in the end the f_ck ups might be worth it. Unfortunately I am leaving HK for Tahiti on Weds so I will not get the chance to actually move anything in!!!

Will PM you when I am back for your inspection!

lol, my initial thought of the Chinese name is that it has to be something related to Fong Shui; but either way you ended up with an excellent name :)

Nice to know that they got everything right finally, can't wait to see how good it looks when the cars move in :)

Btw, I emailed you already fyi, just want to make sure it didnt go into the junk mailbox. Cheers.

I'm guessing its the lift being mentioned?

The cars will drive in off the street, move onto the lift and be lowered to the display floor.

I guess this also has security benefits as the cars cannot be rolled out... but you can't do the Batman driving out of his cave trick. Unless it also doubles as a jump/ramp.

Look forward to seeing it filled with cars!

Correct. There used to be a ramp but ramps are not F40 friendly. Maybe I need a General Lee and a jump could come into play

Happy to do a video tour for my fchat bretheren. Just arrived in Tahiti and was thinking on the plane about what cars to put where. Getting close now. Problem is that I am not in HK too much for the next little while so not much chance to get everything moved in this month. New lift is really fantastic so the major hurdle is out of the way. Now just need government inspections, certificates... Remaining works are very minor

I have just arrived in Hawaii from Tahiti and am happy to receive some photos of the lift etc. Looks like FINALLY everything coming together and should be no problem getting some rolling stock moved in when I get back to HK. You will note that everything is absolutley flush when the lift is down including the vehicle turntable which is under paper to protect my RAF pattern paint. The quality of the lift has ended up exceeding my expectations. Lift is big enough and strong enough for a lorry so it won't work too hard with my sports cars. The lift will be locked in the up position so that all cars in the display area are absolutely secure. When the lift is up it will be a carpark. Safety chains and few other details still in process
