So they were making fun of the idea that any of the visitors would have a sports car?
Or your cars are being displaced to make room for the visitors, and nobody cared about your concerns over where you park?

I still don't see why everything, these days, has to be a committee meeting. Nobody is willing to make decisions without spreading the blame?

Frankly, I don't care what other think. I drive a Ferrari because I can afford one, because i want to, not because I need respect from others. I am sure if they could afford one, it would be a choice they would have to make. Enjoy your ride. Life is too short to worry about others' opinions when it comes to what car you drive.

Fact is, I've had 6 accidents in 38 years of driving (none in the Ferrari, knock on wood), and FOUR of them were in parking lots! Be careful.....

Those that make fun of Ferraris are individuals who are jealous because they can't afford them.

"Ohh man, I know. That thing is soo hard to park. I wish I didn't have to own $200,000+ cars. I wish I could just be happy with the cheaper ones like you guys all have. Oh well, I guess i'll manage. Afterall, it still beats walking." followed by a laugh as you walk out of the room.

Although then again you might find your car keyed in short time...

What an odd thread. So, did the discussion go something like:

"well, we may have a lot of people parking on the street, but they can always put two wheels up on the kerb ... hah, that'll teach those flash sports car drivers!"

    or:

"well, we may have a lot of people parking on the street, but they can always put two wheels up on the kerb."

you: "yes, but what about cars like Ferraris?"

I find it hard to believe it was the former, and if it was the latter then I don't think you mentioning Ferraris or any other sports car was really adding much to the discussion ... apart from maybe letting them know you had a Ferrari?

Apologies if I'm way off the mark here.

When ever people poke fun about my Ferrari I know it's in fun and forget about it. Sometimes I offer to give them a ride, and they usually go for it and the kidding stops.

The problem I have with parking lots is all the shrubbery. It's too high and I am unable to see around the corner. People are in a hurry and cannot see me either. I've nearly been hit in parking lots, both as a predestrian and a driver so many times that I'm getting paranoid about parking lots. In general terms I'd rather have no shrubbery and more parking and larger spaces. The specs usually give minimums. If you must have landscaping, then put it around the edges of the lot to keep the street people out of the lot and drive-by crimes of opportunity down. Also, spend the landscaping money on surviellance cameras and other anti-theft gear.

Who cares what they think? Or say??? If you've got the guts to show up at work with it, you'd better be ready for all the jerks with all the funny, original comments who couldn't get it out of first gear! Really better to leave it at home and save it for those times when you can enjoy it in "peace". A certain percentage of the population always see it as showing off, and that might not be the best place to perpetuate that perception. Been there, but won't do it again!!!

Most F drivers I know stay away from work with them to purposely avoid idiots and negative perception from colleagues/employees, and with good reason.

Anyone who worries aloud about what others think about their Ferrari at work bought it for the wrong reasons. You would drive it to work just to get it noticed and you know it!

The one thing I have learned over the years is that very few people have absolute passion for things. We all sit here reading and writing about something we seriously enjoy doing and talking about. I've noticed that many people TAKE PRIDE in NOT caring...it's almost a badge of honor for them. Their loss...

    +1

I am the same with my daily smoker. I know it's unfortunately gonna' pick up a few dings, so try not to worry (too much) about it.

I took my 360 to work *ONCE* and vowed never to do it again. People didn't stop pestering me for a ride for an age afterwards!

Asking you for rides? Wow, what nerve. Crime of the century or what!

Gotta love English culture. It's rude to be rude, and rude to be nice. I like your policy best, stick to being rude while pointing out how rude others are.

I know a black guy who drives a 360 Spider. Everyone looks at him and tries to work out if he is a sports star!

"Yeah it sucks taking so much time getting over gravel sized imperfections on the road but when I walk out of any store and see women flocking to my car as if Gucci were handing out purses for free then you can understand my patience in such matters..."

Don't forget rapper. It would be too much of a mental leap to allow for him being a well-paid professional or successful businessman, right?

I've had people ask me that same thing about my Elise. Their smug smile turns to anger when I tell them, "I get 35 MPG, and my car cost half as much as your hummer"

You are so right. As to Hummers, reminds my of what an Army Vet. told me about the Bison herd at Ft. Riley. Big, Dumb, and fearless.
