The rumor has been such, Luca praises Fred all the time, Kimi get's along with him very well, and Red Bull have just confirmed part of the rumor. If it smells like poop, looks like poop, changes are it's poop. I trust a billionaire to be more in the know than anyone in middle management at Ferrari.. Especially one who has big ties to the Agnellis and uses Ferrari engines...

    LMAO.... =)

Regardless of all specualtions, I sure hope he doesn't get signed with Ferrari, it would destroy the team and I would only be able to root for one driver instead of the team.

Hamilton did the same thing, what team manager wouldn't want Hamilton on there team this year or next? If there is any driver who would not mind being paired up to FA it would be Kimi. Kimi doesn't let anything get to him. If FA hid his Volka then I would understand. :)

This is a two time champ, he's not a Montoya, a Ralf S. or JV. FA is one of the best drivers if not the best on the grid this year. When has he thrown away a victory or championship by making a driver mistake?

With the exception of Ferrari, as an proven driver and WC, FA would be an upgrade at the #1 driver spot for any F1 team right now. He is one of the top 3 drivers on the F1 grid today, any team would be crazy to not at least consider signing him if possible. The question is how far is a team willing to go in order to sign him, and can they handle the possible chao that can potentially come with FA's emotional baggage.

I wouldn't say that he isn't like Montoya, I would say that he is EXACTLY like Montoya. Although he is more successful than JPM was, his prima-donna status off the track is eerily similar.

We can't say that Kimi would be happy, or unhappy with him. Kimi doesn't say how he feels about anything, plain and simple. But what does speak volumes is his driving. He is much more successful when he is comfortable. Comfort for an F1 driver comes from the support of the team behind you. When you are the big dog on the team, you get that. At least at Ferrari they have seemed to find a way to keep both drivers fairly happy without picking an outright favorite. The best strategy come Sunday comes to the best qualifier, it seems pretty fair.

Now this may work for Kimi and for Massa, but that doesn't mean that it would work for Alonso. He didn't like playing second fiddle to Hamilton, no matter their qualifying position. There was stress over who got the better strategy because they couldn't simply leave it up to who performed better that weekend. It put a huge strain on the team, and is very likely that it cost a McLaren driver the championship.

Stress like that, things that can take away from the overall team dynamic of winning, aren't welcome at Ferrari. Yes they wanted MS to win, but that was for the prestige of the entire team. Rubens had it in him to win races, but he wasn't going to beat Michael for the Championships. So yes, they are a team oriented group, with their eye primarily on the success of the constructors championship, and the drivers championship for whichever of their drivers has the best opportunity of winning.

Alonso won't go to Ferrari no matter his talent just because they know better than to put two Roosters in the hen house.

Do you think Kimi has any say in who his future teammate(s) would be? Does he have "veto" power? IIRC, Schumacher did.

Didn't Massa go through his job uncertainty waiting for MS to make his retirement decision knowing Kimi was already under contract?

I guess the stress of job security goes with the territory in any professional sport.

would love to see FA at Ferrari next year. I do like Massa but I have to admitt that the Massa Kimi team is a bit bland. There's no showmanship like the old days with Schumi. If FA and Kimi get into it, alla Prost-Senna style-that would be very exciting. Mclaren got the spark last year with Hami and FA on the same team. F1 is like opera-needs scene stealers and divas.

IMO, Alonso is a horrible person. I would prefer not to see him in a Ferrari.

So this makes Massa another hen ? ;)

Alonso is the best overall driver package.

Unfortunately he would make Machiavelli look like a Sunday school teacher. If Enzo were alive he would definitely pair him with Kimster. I'm hoping Luca doesn't make this mistake.

What makes Alonso the best package. Frankly KIMI is inherently a better talent. Talk about focus....he has it in droves. Alonso is a needy driver who DOES NOT handle adversity with any type of decorum.

so what? Michael was successfull because he made the team sucessfull. MS didn't b**** or complained a single word during his entire time with the team. All Alonso needs is to have 1 bad race, and he'll cry to the press about being alone, and all that BS.

Are you FA haters kidding??? Fading from public view????? If RShoomaker hang around as long as he did and their are some frankly... dynosaurs like Coulthard still around... Alonso will stay hot for a while.

Sure he could stay hot for 10 more years. His antics and problems at Mclaren are quite a mountain to overcome and he is in the wrong car for this year and possibly next. As far as contributing to the team he is anything but a stabilizing force. Im sure team owners saw Ralf and said no. Other want Alonso but look at the cars they have to offer him. With him mouthing off about a deal with Ferrari or desiring one, that means he probably doesnt have it. Kimi had one and didnt talk, Im sure Alonso would be smart enough to keep that to himself if it were true. Fun to speculate isnt it :)

This is from F1 live.....today Seems he just keeps running off at the mouth...Imagine this guy at Ferrari....NOT.

Fernando Alonso says he chose to leave McLaren at the end of last year because the Anglo-German outfit is "not a winning team".

The former double world champion is quoted by the Dutch website f1today.nl as justifying his return to Renault this year, following his spectacular falling out with British McLaren duo Ron Dennis and Lewis Hamilton in 2007.

"McLaren seem like a winning team, but they are not," Alonso said.

"Some teams are able to produce good cars," he said. "They seem like winners, but in fact they are not, like McLaren.

"They haven't won any titles in years, so I would rather be with Renault, who in the same period collected two drivers' and two constructors' championships."

Alonso said he decided to switch to Renault for the 2008 season because they are the right choice for the 'coming years', despite their lack of competitiveness at present.

"I could have gone to a couple of other teams, but ultimately Renault seemed like the right ones, with the experience, to make a good car and win races."

For the moment, however, Alonso is making no concrete commitment to the French outfit for 2009.

"Next year I want to be with a team that can win," he said.

"At the moment I think it will be Renault, because by the end of the season we will have made up a lot of our deficiencies and then we can make a small further step for the next season," Alonso added.

I know anything can and does happen in F1 but this just doesnt sound like "Im all set for Ferrari next year" at all. If anything it confirms my opinion that he is just hoping to have a deal with Ferrari and rattle the cages at Renault to improve. He is not going anywhere.....but of course I could be wrong :)
