LHD imported from UK not allowed

 

and going on from that when I brought my RHD car in I had to prove it was factory RHD and not a conversion.

 

I thought you could drive LHD over there. I remember asking about the F40 as it had number plates.

Trying to find the posts.

Damn, because if I get my F40, I was planning on putting it in NZ with family so I could drive it other than on the track.

 

might be some exceptions, like being over 20 years old etc, I know this has been discussed at length before. NZ love to import japcrap but anything more interesting and it gets tricky. I spent eight weeks arguing over my car, just because it had a bit of rust at the front....an italian car 25 years old and no rust!!!!!

The widow maker has quite a reputation.

 

Very valid point 360, but, sometimes in life the journey is better than the destination. I just hope I get to experience the destination in this particular example.

BTW, don't mention to my wife about widow makers.

Plenty to see in Hamilton over the weekend, a white GTR by metro motors, monti's black GTR, a red 308 on Te Rapa road, turbo 996 pulling out of a shopping centre in Te Rapa (the base), mid 80's 911, Aston DB9, Me , i guess the nice weather brought us out.

Oh, and not one photo, my camera was at home.

I recall Gerhard Berger saying something like this at the time "this car should not be sold to ordinary people".

But a 288GTO is quick enough, looks better, is much rarer and just as impossible to register.

Hey, thanks for your kind words ! I'm here for about 1 month for business (working for Alcatel-Lucent) in Wellington.
I've been driving quite intensively last WE (about 1200km and 14 hours behind the wheel haha....) just for the eyes pleasure to visit this amazingly beautiful country !!!!!!!!! I went up to Roturua.
Will be driving this WE arround CastlePoint.
