Please ask the owner what the chassisnumber is as well...?
So we can add this Islero "S" to the survivors (more dead then alive that is..)

Is the car black, dark grey or brown?
Do you also know the interior color?

    Great spot!!!

    Ciao,
    Marcello

I believe this Islero belongs to F-Chatter riverflyer. I spotted it in 2006 at Pebble Beach on the Saturday before the big day. It was my first time seeing an Islero in person, though I have had an interest in them for quite some time.

A month later I saw the bright green car at the Palos Verdes Concours - I'll post my photos of it a little later when I've had the chance to resize them to F-Chat specs

The Islero above would match your Miura perfectly.

    Hi all,

Hereby a message from the Islero website:

At long last, the new edition of the Lamborghini Islero Information
Exchange is up. The thrust of this edition (#14) is to drum up support
for the Islero 40th anniversary at Pocono next summer (June 20-23).
This will start the 12th year of the website.
    All the best to all,
    Lou Herrin (Islero #6096)

    Check it out at: http://members.aol.com/LuigiDVM/index.html

    Best regards,
    Marcel

what does that S stand for in all Lamborghini badges ?

I thought that was SV for Spinto Veloce ...

    but the S alone ?

I never saw or heard of something specific, in fact there were a lot of S versions:
    Islero
    Jarama
    Urraco
    Miura
    Countach

Perhaps it was spinto at the beginning and was simply used further on to signalize an improved/newer version of the same model.

Yes, very nice story from our Belgium friend Olivier.
It would be nice if we could 'discover" that car again sometime, somewhere, somehow..

    Ciao!

    Hi Folks,
My quest for Le Mans 1975 Islero is still not finished, here is the story in english :

    http://www.les24heuresdumans.fr/24hphotoarticle/1975lambo/Lemans1975-34-Islero.pdf

Car search stopped in 1978 when "David" french guy sold it to someone else still in Paris.

Is this Islero destroyed ? or stands somewhere ? Any help is welcome !

Miracle happens sometimes...2 months ago I've discovered a lost one : #6300, and recently
one guy in France has just discovered an Islero GTS in a garage, when deal will be done,
I will inform you of its VIN number, and this Islero is a one owner car.

    Cheers,
    Olivier

    Hi everyone,

I am new to this forum but I am a long term vintage Lamborghini enthusiast!

I just fullfilled this child's dream a bought #6300 that Olivier just mentionned. I bought it from Autodrome Paris and it is currently undergoing a complete mechanical refurbishing by Mr. Edmond Ciclet. After that it'll go to carrosserie Lecoq in order for the paintjob to be polished and for the interior to be fully cleaned. Normally I should get the car in three month and I'll post some pictures as soon as I can.

Here are some more information about #6300:
    - Motor number is 2413.
    - First owner was Edmondo Lamborghini, Ferrucio's brother.
    - Delivered January 21st 1969. The body was delivered by Marazzi on September 19th 1968.
    - It was delivered in Bronzo Chiaro (light bronze) and interior upholstery in Senape (mustard). The exterior colour is now metallic green.

It has some odd features, such as an offset Islero logo and a round hole two spoke steering wheel. This steering wheel seems to have original components as the ring and the center hub seem to be exactly the same as the standard two spoke with the squarred holes, but I don't know for sure if it was delivered new like that. I join some pictures caught on lp112 in order to understand.
I would be glad if someone could help me on these!

By the way, I would like to thank Mr. Lou Herrin for all the precious info he gave me!

    I'll keep you updated!

    Best regards to all.

    Hello all:

Here is a sad sight: chassis number unknown, I took the photo 24 years ago in 1984 at the "elephant cemetery" of Pierre de Siebenthal. a controversial Swiss dealer. This was halfway between Lausanne and Yverdon in Switzerland.
Look at what is behind! 365GTC4, 365GT 2plus2, inside there was a Miura, a Monteverdi 375, a Mangusta, a race modified 275GTB...and many more cars all covered with dust with guard dog turds everywhere...

    Best regards,

    Marc

    Hi Nembo,

It is strange to see that this one has the same offset logo as mine!
By the way, I live close to the place you mentionned in Switzerland, does it still exist?

    Best regards!
