NICE!.
That looks killer Carsten! I'd love to see one of these on the track, being a huge Bugatti fan. Nice work man.
Carsten, I wasn't being kind, it simply reflects my experience with designers/stylists. Most are pretty good, but also most are a bit "light-headed" in the practicality area. You seem to have a good head for both. And clearly you have an eye for a good line/style. It's reflected in your art work and concepts. I am not sure if your art is a full time occupation. That is a tough endeavor and usually not real well paying. But you certainly are talented at it and I think you could be a successful stylist, if the opportunity ever came. And by the way, say hello to Jan Magnussen if you see him--He is one nice (and funny) guy, and bloody damn quick-probably the fastest driver I know.
@Brian, I'm still speechless, and I never expected to hear something like this at all!!! However, I think I get your point.....I know the "rough" lines and most of the technic in a car, and I know what kind of things people expect from a car....like doors, luggage compartment, some practicality in daily use and so on, and on a racing car I know that downforce is needed to keep the wheels on the ground at all times and that you at the same time want the most aerodynamic shape to get the most speed and the best economy, so why would I make a drawing of a tall race car that does not have ie a rear wing for downforce???!!! Anyway I would absolutely LOVE to make my living as a stylist at some car company or at some design house!!! My artwork is not my main occupation (sadly), and excactly for the reasons you mentioned.....it's VERY time demanding, and not very well paid, considering all the hours I put into it! If you ever hear of something that you think could be the right opportunity for me, please let me know, as I have not the slightest clue as to where I should look or to whoom I should talk about this!!! We speak with Jan Magnussen at nearly every Danish Toring car Championship race! (I have also made a couple of drawings for him) He's indeed a VERY funny guy, and completely down to earth and we always enjoy to get the latest stories from Jan.....(Noone tells you about a race the way Jan do!!!) it always pulls a big smile on my face and gives everybody a good laugh!!! He's not always the fastest in DTC, but he sure is the most entertaining and funny guy!!! I'll be sure to tell him you said hi when I get the next chance!!! Kind regards Carsten
Carsten, Trust me, if Jan is not the fastest, then something is seriously wrong with his car! He is bloody scary fast! I have the track data to confirm it!
Brian, I know he's bloody fast, no doubt at all, and I have several times seen Jan fight his way back, up through the field from a lousy position on the grid! One very good example was last spring in a national Renault Clio Cup race were Jan performed as a guest star driver! He started from pole position! He got a poor start and at some point in the race he was touching one of the other cars whereby he was given a drive through penalty, and after going back onto the track he fighted his way back from something like thirteenth position to WIN the race.....and I tell you... it was not because others left him an empty road! We have seen many similar examples on this in DTC (Danish Touring Car Championship) He is definately a one of a kind Racing driver, (And one of my top two favourites! ), and the story goes that Jan will be fast (read fastest) no matter which racing car you put him in! He is without a doubt the most successful "multi class" racing driver in my country, and I guess perhaps even in the entire Europe!!! He was born a racing driver..... His three class wins at Le Mans also confirms this......you don't win Le Mans three times in a row on pure luck!!! Very best regards Carsten
Hello. I haven't post here for a long time now... I need to change that... I don't want to steal this thread but since I've found it and I have something to show, here it is: This is my vision of a LeMans Bugatti Veyron... Hope you like it.
