WOW! What a monitor. Thanks luke for the advice. On games its truly amazing. The radeon 3870x2 works very well with it.
It makes my 22 inch look like childs play.

I also overclocked my g6600 to 6700. THe cpu is running right at 50C. Is that okay? I do have a tuniq 120 tower on it.

that's kinda hot, imo, but i think that's within normal ranges, unless that's at idle o_O

i'm running a C2Q6600 (G0 Stepping) @ a stable and conservative 3GhZ with a thermalright Ultra120 extreme and my core temps under extreme load are mid-upper 40's [46-47 max when stressed with orthos or other program, about 38-43 when just using the computer normally, and right around 32 at idle]. from what i understand the thermalright u120x is the best air-cooling solution.

both my the heatsink and ihs are lapped. that may have some effect as well.

i have 2 22" samsungs at the moment -- if i had the money, i'd definitely move to 2 30" dell or apple...but sadly, i don't :p can never have enough screen real estate, imo. I started doing multi-monitors a long tiome ago, with 3 CRTs (imagine how much desk space THAT took up) -- then i moved to 2 15" LCDs, then 2 19", and now 2 22". I definitely want more.

    my current setup is
    asus maximus formula mobo
    Q6600 G0 @ 3GHz; thermalright Ultra 120 extreme [both lapped]
    2x 150GB 10k RPM WD RaptorX in RAID0
    2x WD 1TB for storage
    8GB crucial ballistix [4-4-4-12 @ 800]
8800GTS [overclocked], thinking about moving to the Radeon cards since the asus board is an X38 chipset and doesnt support SLI, so i need to go xfire.

    What is go?
    what is lapping?
THe single 3870 is only $169 right now at microcenter. With the $30 mirebate. The 3870x2 definitely runs hotter. The visiontek fan blows the exhaust out the back of the computer, the asus version blows it into the case...
I use riva tuner to increase the fan speed on the videocard. Its way too slow stock.
The only thing the radeon does not do well is antialiasing.

I really want to push the 6600 up to 3ghz.
The 28 completely destroys the 22 in performance and picture.

If you're going the one card route, I would get the G92 8800 GTS. It's in that price range. It's a far better card.

Especially at higher resolutions. I'm planning on the same card (8800GTS 512 G92).
