Appreciate it, will certainly be in touch.
Just go in and introduce yourself, Werner is a great guy, just understand that he might have other business to attend too, but tell him your are just looking and admiring the cars. At the end of the day, he was an admirer one time too.
Why would you flame a dealership based on someone elses experience and not your own. I have been going to Miller Motors since my teenage years. They have been nothing but nice since the first day I entered back when I did not even have a dime in my pocket. Now I have a Ferrari and buy parts from them. Dont be another annoying non F-car owning, non-factual spewing teeny bopper with nothing positive to contribute, on this site. Try and contribute some factual information and maybe you will be better received!
Miller had a black TR I called on years ago. I was a buyer and did in fact buy a black TR within a few days of talking to them. When I called they seemed too busy to talk to me about the car and were trying to get off the phone quick. I told the salesman to call me back since he was so busy maybe he could look up the records on the car and call me back. He asked me if I wanted him to do a walk around the car and look it over and I said yes. I never heard from them again and will never call them again about a car. That's all I know first hand about the store.
My limited experience with Miller is from 2 perspectives I met and briefly spoke with Werner at FCA events in Limerock and at the Hartford Concours. On both occasions he was more than happy to spin a yarn about anything Ferrari. He truely has a passion for the marque and is extremely knowlegable regarding most if not all Ferrari models. He is anything but standoffish and has difficulty letting you go. A great guy and an asset to Miller. One Saturday afternoon while "passing by" I had questions about my upcoming major and stopped in to converse with Don Byrd. After determining "Miller" has no Saturday service hours, I gave myself an unescorted tour of the show room absorbing essence. No one approached me to see if I needed help but niether did they harrass me. I can say I felt a little underappreciated as a potential customer but I also gave no indication that I needed or wanted help, so I can blame that on me. I have absolutley no problem with Miller, and would recommend them to anyone. F of NE ended doing my Major and I am very happy with there service dept. I selected F of NE for geographic reason more than anything. If I was closer, Miller would have done it. During my Major, I spent lots of time at F of NE and was treated like a friend. The Service department was not only highly qualified but acted very unexpectedly freindly and proffesional. Its the first time any Service Department from any Industry actually worked with me on pricing. That they allowed me to provide some parts and came close to price matching on other parts continues to amaze me. In addition, the showroom guys were always available to offer a cup of coffee and chat about all kinds of topics. Summary No Problem recommending Miller or F of NE to anyone although my experience with F of NE was nothing less than superb and cannot be beat.
I didn't flame anyone But even if I DID have an opinion on a dealership based on a few friends' experience, what the heck is wrong with that? Word of mouth is a powerful thing. If someone I respect gives me an opinion, I respect it and take it for what it's worth and I am well within my right to do that. For all you know, it could a family member who experienced something from them. And as long as I disclose to the OP that it was not my personal experience, I see nothing wrong with that. He can take it for what it's worth; that it's not a first hand experience. I tried to help the OP to the best of my ability. That's a contribution. Your opinion/counter-opinion counts and helps as well. Thanks
I don't know if I have ever posted before, usually I just like to look and read interesting stories. Like many I hope to own a Ferrari of my own some day. But stop the presses, there are Ferrari meets in Marshfield? I have never seen one and have lived here 19 years. What have I been missing?
For anyone who wants to go Miller in Greenwich it is a great place and great people. I grew up not far from the old place and used to go there quite often back when the Daytona was new. Later on Tommy Parker was showing me used Daytonas in their bargain basment for 18k. Now Werner is showing me new 599's. I always get a good welcome and a nice time disregarding if I show up in GT40, a Daytona, or in a Jeep picking hayseeds out of my hair. We are all car guys after all.
If you're in Boston, go to Ferrari of New England in Foxborough. I used to go in there (when they were in Newton) may years ago before I was able to afford anything even close to a Ferrari and look at the cars and they never gave me a problem. Doing a visit like this a couple of times a year plants the seed and fortifies the dream of one day getting such a car, and if you have every read any books on the "psychology of achievement" (this is a set of tapes with this very name that are excellent) you will know that a persons finds ways to achieve what they dream about frequently. In other words it eventually becomes a reality (I'm currently dreaming of getting a gulfstream G4). So go to the dealership, ask for Mark Mina, tell him Barry Chapin sent you and that you are working on getting a Ferrari by dreaming about it frequently - worked for me (but I bought mine on ebay, my next one will come from FoNE however).
