Anyone had similar problem with their 599? Day 1 and 2 were a dream (great car as you all know) but on Day 3 the error message on the TFT said the CST and the Manetino had failed and the car wouldn't start. Dealer says its a first time problem.

Sorry to hear that. I personally have never heard of that failure before.

I've had a similar error only upon starting the car and I think it was due to me hitting the start button immediately after turning the key and not waiting for the complete system check.. I just turned the key off, back on, waited for the system check to complete and it hasn't happened again.

I didn't know that was a problem. As soon as I turn the key to the right and my screen lights up I hit the start button. Then after getting the okay on the screen I roll if she's warm or idle until she warms up. I thought the manual said not to wait too long between the time your screen lights up and hitting the start button because it puts excessive strain on the electrical system as well as the battery itself. Is hitting the start botton before you get the systems check okay 16 seconds later something to be avoided? I've experienced no problems to date and have been starting the car this way since day 1 for the last eight months.

My manual recommends to wait for the "check OK" sign before pressing the start button.

Well - I'll let you know as its on the trailer back to the dealer. Tricky things to shift out of the garage when the V12 won't fire up?!

I know how you feel. My car wouldn't start one morning soon after I got it. The car was sent to the dealer and checked properly. Since then it is fine and a pure pleasure do drive. Just have patience. The dealer will fix the problem and you will have tons of fun with your 599GTB!

That is one stunning car you've got there, my friend. It's exactly my 'dream spec'.

I hope the problem is resolved swiftly.

    Hi

Had the same problem and it was a sensor that had gone.

Whilst at Ferrari get them to check the earth strap from the battery to the body, its a common problem.

    Thanks

    Mike

My 430 is Rossa and black with red stitching but I think the Bordeaux is classier in the 599. You getting one soon - are you not?
