Guys, can you please suggest some helpful sites that will help in my search for a non-red 355 GTB...I know they're extremely rare
    but I love them.

    Thanks a bunch,
    James

My apologies...very low mile example berlinetta where year and F1/manual doesnt matter too much.

Why would any prefer F1 anyway? Manual is the real deal...just never understood the F1 paddles and why they would ever be preferrable.

Colors: Gray, Brown, blues, but no reds, yellows, and no blacks since my '84 400i is blk/tan.

Budget: Within reason and deemed to be an excellent example I'll buy it.

    Thanks so much,
    James

Go to: www.vast.com It has a lot of cars but it seems a lot of ads are old and the ads are not up to date.

In the "What" box type the car you are looking for (ie. Ferrari 355), and if you leave the "Where" box empty, you would get a lot of national and some international listings.

I'm with you. I prefer the stick shift.

However, you need to at least be aware that there are some advantages to the F1 from a used-car-buyer's perspective.

For instance, F1 cars don't have difficulty shifting into 2nd gear when cold. No clunking into 2nd. No need to skip 2nd gear and shift instead to 3rd...the F1 always makes a smooth shift, even when cold (if the F1 is working at all).

So in my opinion, used F1 cars are going to have less transmission damage and need fewer gear repairs.

Now, as for sites concerning getting a 355...get to know Autocheck.com and carfax.com very well because you'll find title problems with half of every Ferrari that you consider buying.

Pay the extra $50 for the Title Guard title insurance policy, too.

That seems very logical on the F1 paddles...is it true that the trans is not bullet proof? What did you guys do to remedy the situation? Just a rebuild?

    Thanks again guys,
    J

Once you go auto, all hope is lost. Paddles are for canoes.

Just aren't something I need in my life. I bought a spider, so the track isn't my chosen venue. To give up the clutch, the toe, the heel, the grind of a missed shift... the smell of burning clutches... God!! That's what motoring is supposed to be about. Next thing you know we'll all be driving BMWs. Top Gear had a show with one that drives itself 'round the track. How perfect is that?? In fact, the world would be a better place if all the BMW drivers gave up driving altogether, particularly the ones from New Joisy.

Anyhow, back on subject, paddles are great for the track. Or a Van Halen schoolgirl video. Same thing.
