    Hi everyone!

Once again, it is great to read all of your posts... thanks for sharing your knowledge and humor.

I bought a 82 308 GTSi last year and LOVE my car! It ran great all summer and I had alot of fun!

However, a little "accident" occurred and the driver door bent back in a very "unnatural" position. (Imagine that Joe Theisman game a few years ago when his knee bent... yuck) This is the part you are probably laughing out loud at me. Yes, I messed up my new car and I'm humbly asking for advice.

The door closes (if you push down really hard and slam it) and it latches. I imagine the hinges are trashed which makes me believe I need a new door. The glass completely shattered but suprisingly the door interior is fine. The door and the front panel have body damage. The problem is, there are only 6 Ferrari's in Alaska and not a lot of options for body work. I'll find somebody...

Any suggestions on a door? There is one on Ebay for $1000, seems high to me. Another site had a door for $450 and glass for $450. Just started to look so let me know if I'm missing something.

Also, I'm seriously considering racing it this summer... any feedback on possible damage? If it catches fire everytime, I don't want to do it.

    Thanks! Have a GREAT day!

Have you checked to see if T Rutlands has a door? I know they salvage parts so they may be able to help.

    Berlinetta Motorcars also does this.

wow...But it does sound like something that may be repairable... or maybe just hinge replacement?.. try gt car parts in arizona..623-780-2200
But I would have a body shop diagnose what you need instead of random replacement..

I'm thinking a whole door for $1000 is a good deal.

GT Car parts helped me with a door also,...luckily for you, the "S" doors are easier to find than a "B" door, or were at the time...

Sorry to hear, but stuff happens....best of luck

The trouble, you'll find, is the doors vary enough in overall dimension that the new one may need some work to fit the old opening.

The hinges on these doors are pretty robust. If it closes and still works it may be easier to fix it than replace it. Mine was backed into the inside of a truck hard enough to split the door open but the hinges were fine. Look for a good body shop that specializes in high end cars and have them check it out.

Of course if you can get a complete door for $1000 it might be easier and cheaper.

Sorry, I just can't help but think of Tommy Boy saying "What'd you do?" My brother did this tommy boy experience recently, luckily it was on a much cheaper american car.
