I have seen a few threads on instructions on how to fabricate your own fire extinguisher bracket. I would prefer to buy one if one is available. Anyone know where I might be able to purchase such a bracket? I have searched, but with no luck. I have a small haleon extinguisher. Thanks.

I couldn't find anything for my 308 so I made something that came off the passenger seat bracket . .. I still need to buy proper billet mount to attach to my custom fab piece . .. is that the location you're thinking . .. if so I'll post some pic's of what it is and I'm sure you can find someone local to whip something up.

If it's a B put in a harness bar and mount to it :).

    Edit: never mind . .. that's a good link . . . pretty much what I made

I have Erik's brackets in my 328 and 308. I'm very happy with them, also.

    Hey Folks -

I have made several extinguisher mounting brackets that mount to the seat rail bolts. I use the same basic design for brackets that mount to the 308 and 328 (same unit) and with some modifications, I have also made them for the 512 BBi, 348 and most recently for my sons 88 TR. I currently have orders for three brackets that I am working on. I make my brackets as a hobby in my "spare" time, which is at a premium right now, so it takes a few weeks to get one out. I charge $85 for the bracket and SS machine screws for mounting and $10 for shipping and handling. It takes about six hours total per bracket which includes: layout; cutting; finish shaping; hole drilling; forming the "S" bend (to clear the floor mats); bead blasting and finally painting. The brackets are made from sheet aluminum, so they are one piece of material and thus have no seams to break.

For those of you looking to obtain new extinguishers, I recommend the Amerex Halotron. If you go to the AmerexFire.com website, click on the "where to buy" button and you can find a dealer in your area. This is the same extinguisher that Griot's sells, but for MUCH less. (http://amerexfire.com/wheretobuy.html) I have an Amerex extinguisher myself, so I have the mounting hole pattern and can drill the brackets I make to mount the Amerex spring clamp.

Under ABSOLUTELY NO CIRCUMSTANCES should an extinguisher be mounted to the package tray of any vehicle or any other place that is head high!! If you are involved in a high speed colision, that extinguisher could become a 2 1/2 pound bullet!!

My thanks to all of those that have purchased my brackets!!

    Erik

Yeah, I though about telling Viking (Erik) that he owes me royalties!

But VIKING (Erik), seriously, I realize you're a rookie and not very active here, but NO SELLING IN THE MAIN FORUMS. If you want to offer brackets or anything else, subscribe and post in in FerrariAds instead. Continue to make offers to sell here may result in a temporary ban.
