My wife just told me she heard on the radio about a Ferrari crash (with a shuttle bus) somewhere in Pierce county, with serious injuries... She was very freaked out because at the time I was driving around town in my 328... Does anyone know about this? How awful.... Jedi
At 3:47pm Kiro TV reported that the two occupants of the Ferrari were killed and three people from the bus were transported to the local hospital. No names have been released. How awlful.
Horrible to read about any fatal car accident, but especially so when it involves someone in the Ferrari community. http://www.thenewstribune.com/news/local/story/340312.html Prayers and thoughts for the families of those hurt or killed ...
Oh man. A grim reminder of the potential for bad things happening when we are out on our drives. I hate hearing about things like this.
I just saw the Ferrari on the flat bed of a tow truck on KIRO tv, it looks like a Red testarossa, Man what a tragic accident. Prayer and wishes for all that was involved.
This is so tragic. Hate reading about stuff like this........especially so close to home. Condolences to the families.
My wife and I were just through that area around 3:30p coming back from Olympia......Sorry to hear about that.
34 year old guy and a lady passenger died on the sceen!! My condolences to their family. Someone said it was a TR does anyone know yet? The articles only say it was a Ferrari?
Yes, it was a red Testarossa: http://www.king5.com/topstories/stories/NW_042008WAB_lakewood_fatal_ax_SW.835a04ae.html Mike
It looks to me like a 512M. Round tail lights and "pinwheels". How many of THOSE are around here and who could it be?
Wasn't there just a red 512M up at that "U.S. Seizure" auction a couple months ago? http://www.murphyauctions.net/ferrari08mar.html Mike
It just sold a couple of weeks ago for 205k or something like that.. I wonder if it's the same one. For the record it's Red/Black
Since this report, ALL of our friends have called. We live just a few miles from where this happened, and as our friends heard it on the local news, all their hearts stopped and one by one they called, hoping against hope. My brother in law knew I was out driving in the UP /Lakewood area today with my wife Anne, and he called my cell phone but I didn't answer. So he actually came over to ease his distress. Not a lot of red Ferraris in this part of the county. Even got a call from a business associate from out of state who knows the area and saw the report on the web. All have put this poor man and his passenger in their thoughts. My wife cried when her brother called, just imagining how horrible this is. Now she wants me to sell my 328, but agreed to let some time pass. She can't get over the 'what if that was you and Julie (my 17 year old who rides with me often). In our thoughts and prayers too... stuff like this hits close to home, in my case literally. Jedi
Just saw this on Seattle Times's website and check in here immediately. Terrible news....... http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2004362373_webferrari20.html
This is just terrible. Here's the report from the King 5 web site. From the photo, the car appears to be a 1995 F512M. Maybe it was the one recently sold at the Murphy auction? I don't know of any other red ones in the area. =================================== Associated Press LAKEWOOD, Wash. - A 35-year-old Lakewood man and a woman were killed and three others injured when a red Ferrari struck a shuttle bus in Lakewood. Tell her it's not the car's fault. YOU are cautious and do your best to be safe. It can happen just as easily in a Ford Focus.
Exactly. She'll be fine - she just took it so hard because I had been out earlier with her, and with our daughter, in the very neighborhood where this happened. She's just caught up in the 'it could have been you' thing right now and taking it out on the car. It'll just take a little time. Dave
