i was "driving" the integra type r in one of the high speed tracks.....i was driving down the front straight in 6th gear when a ferrari f430 flew by me with it's distinctive scream........that was cool....just like in real life.

I just read this in a real car review...

The review talks about how the GTR's electronics takes care of everything, to the point where the driving experience gets boring. They worked hard to make their perfect car, but the review says that a Porsche and Ferrari are still more involving and have that "soul" that everyone talks about. :)

The Integra type R seems to be everyone's first car in GT5, lol.

There's the difference between the real deal and the SIM. I heard that the GTR was fairly easy to drive at the limit and blazing quick. In GT5 it's just annoying twitchy. While I don't doubt any AWD car doesn't give you too much warning before a slide, i would doubt it's that easy to make a GTR slide in the first place.

GT5:p Is probably the best driving simulation I've ever "driven", but like everything else, it isn't perfect.

The B-6 race (the one everyone gets stuck on) is pretty difficult but doable. I've been playing with the regular controller as my wife doesn't like the wheel sitting around attached to our coffee table, which probably makes it a bit harder, but the trick seems to be to stay on the racing line, drafting the cars in front of you. If you hit other cars it slows you down, and if you rear end them you will most definitely not be able to get in the top three. It also helps to not slide around a lot, if you hear your tires and start drifting, you are wasting precious time. I've only been able to finish 3rd, but at least I was able to move up to "A" class.

The GT-R cannot possibly be like the real thing, at least I hope it isn't because it was on the short list for my new daily. It simply gives you no warning whatsoever before it lets loose and it will let loose under braking, under power, and pretty much under any circumstance other than going in a straight line no matter what you set your TC to. The Ford GT is just as fast and handles so much more predictably (I'm talking about the videogame cars here, not the real things). I would like to buy the Vette and the F430 to see how they compare.

The "A" class races are quite a bit more difficult than the "B" races. I strongly suggest the Ford GT as it's power helps make up for mistakes in the corners.

I'm saving up for the game's F430 to see how that compares to the real life 360.

Anyone else driven the 512BB? It's fast and sounds fantastic, but man is it twitchy.

I also managed a 3rd place finish on B-6 a little tough but you just need to draft people and catch that last group you run into when your in 6th on that last turn then scoot past.

Just starting the A races but that bmw blows. Ill have to get the GT

The 512 is a lot of fun to drive. You can thank '70s suspension designs for the twitchiness, but I also think thats what makes it fun to drive.

I just started the A class. The BMW you get for finishing B isn't bad, but it likes to oversteer coming out of corners if you give it much throttle. It works best if you ease on it coming out of corners especially in 1st or 2nd gear.

The A class race at Suzuka is tough. I tried the GT-R, but it just can't cut through the pack quickly enough (at least with my driving). I'm doing better with the Ford GT thanks to its huge straightline grunt, but still not good enough to get into the top 3.

just picked it up over the weekend.. got the GTI and finished 1 race... feels like more of the same at this time (I had the demo when it first came out), but I have to get the wheel and really get into it, before I can pass judgment.

I think I will have to finish my Forza2 and PGR4 first, then I'll get a PS3 wheel, and get back to GT5:p seriously. :)

Once you finish the C, B, and A classes, you have access to the tune shop.

Why so many question marks??????????????????? :p

What's the quickest way to accumulate points during the "A" races? Having to buy an F430 and other cars gets expensive.

For me the "B" unrestricted car type race on the Daytona oval seems a quick way to get cash.

The Type R is the best car you can get for the price so naturally it will be your first one. I didn't even read the IGN article. I'm all done with C & B. Now I have to keep entering the B oval race with the Z06 and the Ford GT so i can get enough credits to buy the F430 and finish the last A race. The GTR isn't as bad as I thought it was at first, it just takes some getting used to. The Z06 is a bit twitchy but a monster on the straights, and the GT is a peach to drive. The NSX R is good for the Japan cup races with the 300 HP limit.

Has anyone played online yet? I went online for the first time yesterday and got passed in a straight by a Capuccino that had been "tuned". Blew by me like I was standing still, and I was driving an Integra.

That tune shop has to be pretty neat, if a bit unrealistic!

Not yet. I've read horror stories on the Playstation forums about kids acting like it's a demo derby. Sounds like an exercise in frustration. Once Polyphony adds the ability to start a private race with friends I'll probably gve it a shot. :)

that's what happens when you have an all-free network :)

On XBL, you get the little kids as well, but the good players are plenty, and the $4/month keeps out the kids who don't want to shell out $50/yr

Demo derby is right. It's pathetic.

What's the best 300hp Japanese car for the A races? That's all I have left to finish in A.

Bought the 430 and cleaned up all the other events it was eligible for.

I got the Honda NSX type R and got second at Suzuka and third at Fuji. It's probably your best bet
