BZ is still way flooded. We went last sun the 20th to shoot Nomads Barrett .50. You can still shoot from the top berm though, just gets crowded quick.

No, its just pushed up really far because I was messing with the Jet Funnel kit on the bottom and had to get it out of the way. It sets level with where the normal bottom of the grip would be usually.

I want to try and go out there this weekend if I have time. I may just go to Tallow Creek.

Hmmm, I have one on my fullsize USP and the part you have up under the slide is what I have near the magwell. It's straight across the grip from the trigger guard. But, hell, if it works it works right? :)

Hmm, I'll try flipping it around just to see. I think I had it that way when I first got it, but its been a while!

My P7 shipped out today though!! Can't wait to get my hands on it, going to Tripp's for a hardchrome job.

You should put all your smaller valuables in the safe...jewelry, cameras, laptops, important papers, etc.

Depends on what you want to do with it. The guns run well, and appear reliable, but the ammo is expensive, and the ballistics are suspect. Tiny bullet moving at somewhat fast speeds. The lack of endorsement by law enforcement or military (which it was designed for) should tell you about the confidence in the cartridge.

If you are looking for a fun "plinker" and for your "end of the world" zombie gun, well, they are probably the ticket, as both the handgun and PS90 have high capacity, and decent enough velocity for zombie stopping head shots! ;)

I wanted to HC mine but now I'm thinking of doing a darker refinish. I've been reading about this stuff. http://pistolsmith.com/viewtopic.php?t=27318&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0&sid=adddfca396d0600f7c9b10c3b25239e1

I love the look of the HC and nill grips on a P7 though. I guess I need one of each. I think Tripp's is going to stop doing the HC, is this right?

Ah, this thread makes me nostalgic. I sold all my pistols when I moved to another state, and have yet to jump through the (admittedly not so many) hoops in North Carolina. Some of my old favorites:

    Nighthawk Talon 1911
    H&K USPc in 9mm
    Glock 17
    Kimber Custom TLE II 1911

I had a particular fondness for 1911's, especially for carry since I have a small frame and they are relatively skinny.

Nice A1 setup, fixed sight upper, the Mattel-like grips and an A2 f-hider. If you have the original 1/24 barrel twist, then it's complete. Newer barrels would be a 1/9 or 1/7 twist.
That would be Peoples Socialist Republic of California legal if you bought it during the pre-ban era. Existing (registered)rifles are ok, all new rifle sales are a no no.

I was able to pick up a P.C. rifle, the Sportster Target Match HBARII before this state went nuts. No bayonet lug and f-hider for me.

With a 5000 yard range you would need a forward observer ;)

I thought that ATF classified cartridge arms over .50 caliber as "destructive devices". Does this thing require a special permit?

Not sure what the twist is on this one. I think it's probably 1/12. I pretty much use 55gr projectiles and it is very accurate. It has a 1970 Colt upper, chrome lined. I have since removed the flash hider and installed the 3 prong that is period correct for the retro M16 look. The lower is a modern Stag unit that is not on the Cali banned list like an original Colt unit would be. It always draws attention when I take it to the range. In regard to Cali law, here's a link to a flowchart to establish a weapon's compliance in the current silly legal environment:

Agreed, but until these ridiculous laws are eliminated, we have to live with it. Hopefully, a positive decision in the Heller case at SCOTUS in June will wedge the door open just enough to enable the process of restoring our rights.

Here's a World War II Mauser 98K 1940 '237' Lubecker with all its Nazi proof marks intact; Duel War Eagles, Waffenamts and Stock Cartouches. This is an RC example and I plan to buy a few more before the surplus dries up.

A lot of those have been "sporterized". After more than 60 years it seems incredible that there's any "surplus" left.

After WWII the Russians captured millions of these things, dismantled and then rebuilt all of them as a pet project in the 50s and 60s, and with the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991 a fair amount (million plus) were purchased for dirt cheap and imported to the States to be sold off to collectors as surplus.

That gun is ridiculous. Its almost 7 feet tall and fires a bullet the size of my hand.

i have a 1939 440y coded k98 with all the NZY proofs on it also. its beat all to hell, but all original. fun stuff. i cannot imagine shooting one of these things in a building in house to house combat. the Garand is just as big and loud too!

those people on both sides had it tough.

i do like my Nagants too. i have a rare m28/30 thats a tack driver. its a SAKO or Tula, i dont recall, as its at my other house.
