I'm seeing this offered on newist 430's.........is a factory option? What does it look like? Thanks for any help......I'm shopping. Mike
That option has been available since the introduction of the 430. The wheel has more of a shine as opposed to a matted look. The additional cost is about $1700.
I ordered this on my car that came in Dec.. It gives the rims a dull shine to them. I think if you seach here you will find photos. I would post some but then that would require me to figure out how to do that.
Thanks fella's. I appreciate it. Question: is it bare aluminum that you have to polish to keep nice? or is it clear coated like the painted wheels? Any pictures would help. Mike
Here's pic of the ball-polished wheels on my 07 F430. Not a great shot, but I think you can still get the idea. I have found just regular washing with soap/water does the trick just fine; no extra or special care needed to date. As with all these wheels, don't let the brake dust stay on too long or it will pit them though... Image Unavailable, Please Login
It is in b/w chrome and flat look. Just perfect. Goes particularly well with dark colored cars. It has a clear coat on it and needs same care as any other stock rims from Ferrari. Here is my 360 that I upgraded with ball polished 430 rims. Image Unavailable, Please Login
It is bare aluminum and do not require special care other than regular maintenance. You MUST be careful when using wheel clearner. Read the label carefully. These are not chrome wheels. Some cleaners are only designed for chrome and could damage aluminum wheels.
No, I mean to say "upgraded". However your question will evoke subjective responses. There are many who believe that the stock 360 wheels look dated and when I replaced (upgraded) the rims, the difference was obvious not just to me but many onlookers. Adil.
It's down to personal taste, but I think the stock rims suit the 360 better. The F430 rims suit the F430 better. I lurve the stock star rims on the 360. You prefer the F430 rims on your 360, that's your taste, but I also DON'T wear Ferrari clothing whilst in my Ferrari!
Incorrect, the so called, 'Ball Polished' description is misleading. According to Premier Motorsport, (authorized Ferrari collision center) the finish is actually a special paint with clearcoat.
The cap looks like an F cap. But actually it reads FMS ( Fusion Motor Sports ). FMS is my Ferrari Mechanic Shop and Damian who owns the shop is considered as one of the finest mechanics in LA area. BTW he is from your nick of the woods. Adil. NB: I will admit though that the shirt has a small prancing horse some where. Lol.
