Can anyone give my a littel tutledge on removing my drivers side lamp/flap (bucket) removal.

I'm guessing that I need to take out the whole unit (bucket) out because the top portion needs to be repainted.

Please tell me that I don't have to take out the lower spoiler in order to do so.......

    Thanks guys

My car's a 328 so maybe different. I haven't had the bucket out but have done a lot of headlamp work... Turn on headlamps with the car off then disconnect the battery-I have the a quick negative disconnect on the right side in back of the radiator fan. remove headlamps and the other hardware. Should be able to get to the necessary bolts, screws and nuts from there to remove it. May need to remove the front wheel well cover. Maybe it would be easier to paint it on the car? Couldn't be that hard to mask it off well, and even if it was in a shop for a few days. Not sure if this helps you, hopefully does.

Hopefully, you have removed the air louvre grill behind the light. As Jeff mentioned, raise the light bucket under power and disconnecting the battery next. I've not gone farther than removing the assembly at the front of the light, but all fasteners are available front the top of the car.

First, let me state that I have not done this procedure YET. But I have looked into it a lot and feel the following is 95% correct. Of course, I defer to others who have ACTUALLY done it (newman?)

With removing the louver directly behind it and removing the wheel, and forward wheel well panel out (behind the heater blower), you should be able to extract the headlight assembly. Removing the spoiler should not be necessary - but it would probably make it nicer.

Please, post pictures of your work!
