Hi guys and gal too. I'm still doing my home work for my very first F car. I'll will post up pics for sure when I bring her home this summer. The question I want to ask is the maintenance schedule. One of the dealers I talked to in San Francisco said it cost about $6K for the first service at 5000 miles, then from there on $1500 for every 10K miles. Can I go with these numbers? Thanks guys.

I would set aside about $2.50 per mile.

I would say $1.5/ mile for a in warranty car and $2.5 for an out of warranty car. This is not equally spread over the life of a car so before you buy get a real good PPI from an authorized dealer to make sure you are not going to get to make up for someone else's low maintenance costs.

I've had an '05 since new. I had the first oil change at a bout 2K though this is not required at a cost of about $200. The first (5K) service was about $400. It included oil and brake fluid flush and inspections. Second year was more with transaxle flush, a/c service and a bunch of filters and inspections it cost about 1150. I've also had an alignment done. Third anual is coming up and I expect it will be well under 1000. If you are getting an '05 be sure the factory updates have been done. There are quite a few.

Parts and labor charges will vary from dealer to dealer. Annual or 5K service is approx. 1,500.

Man, this so cool! All this time I have been hearing outrageous numbers like I posted up. Also my insurance just called and gave the quote. I live in San Jose, Ca. The coverage I was quoted for is $900 every six months with 100/300 and $5k medical. It is cheaper than my Ducati! My baby will come home for sure now.

Now, I just looked at the annual service bill on mine and I come up with $1983 just for the fluid and filter change and the labor to do so. This is without any parts, brake pads or tires. When was the last time you brought you Ferrari in for service and nothing was broken? My numbers are based on $120/hr labor rates which I consider pretty reasonable. Are my numbers just way high?

My first service was about 1k. Next service will be about the same. These cars don't require much. Tires don't seem to last too long, but maybe that's the way I'm driving it. I would think about 1.00/mile would be about right. Substantially less than a 348, 355, 360 because of the belts, or lack thereof.

I don't know why some dealers charge so much for anual service except theycan get away with it. Look at the maintenance schedule and tell me how a service can take 8-10 hours. Here's the rundown on mine:

    In service 8/05.

    1st oil change 11/05 2600 miles: 212.
    Install fire extinguisher 268.
    Hard wire V1 210.
1st anual 8/06 labor 220. (2 hours) total 371.* trans axle not flushed because it was done during hydraulic line update
    2nd anual labor 6 hours 1151.
    Tires (Pirrelli) & alignment 2104.
    Paint touch up 275.
    Total: 4591.

Car has 10,600 miles on it so far less than $1 per mile even with my "optional" purchases. I'm about to get brake pads which will up the total.
It has had two repairs under warranty: rear main seal leak which is rare and would have cost about 1000. to fix and a check engine light which would have been very little. I expect the car will have 13-14K on it at 3 years at a service and tire cost of 5500-6000. still less than 50 cents a mile. If I had not tracked the car, the tires would have lasted longer and I would not need pads for many more years. I had the alignment just to double check and it was slightly out of spec.

Your #'s fall into the average costs, 1500-2100 for the annual.

    Annual Service/Complete Fluid Change
    *Engine Oil/Filter
    *Brake/Clutch
    *Gear Box/Differential
    *Power Steering
    *Coolant
    *Chassis Service/Re-torque Suspension

Personally I can't remember the last time anything was broken. Typically my trips to the dealer are for scheduled maintenance and or campaigns.
