I was hoping for some help
I am between 2 cars and ready to buy
both cars are the same price

    1. 2004 manual 360 spider 4800 miles front and rear grills, shields. red calipers, hifi, tubi power daytona seats, modular rims, belt service 18 mos ago

    2. 2005 F1 4800 miles front and rear grills, shields, red calipers power daytona seats, modular rims, fresh belt service

both cars are clean no stories from authorized Ferrari dealers
I like both cars equally All things equal is the 2005 a "better deal"

Are they the same color? If not, you may like both, but in your heart you know which one you like better.
The more important question, and there is no way that you can say you don't care one way or the other is the F1 vs 6 speed manual. There is a world of difference and only you know which is more important to you, doesn't mean crap what anyone else says, either you know what you want or don't buy. Don't second guess, which car was always your "dream", that's the one you buy!

The '05 appears to be a better deal in terms of value (or more particularly, resale value), but if it's six-speed you want, then that's what you should get.

I have a feeling the rarity of six-speeds in 360/430 spider models will drive the price up some day...after all, rarity is what makes something valuable :)

Go with the 6 speed...hands down the better choice given the year and vintage nature of the F1 tranny in 2005.

    What are the color combos?

I'd go with the 6-speed, no question. And if you're considering it, then I presume that you like driving stick and therefore you should not give that pleasure up. F1 is great and has its moments, but I still think the "purest" form of owning a Ferrari comes without the flappy paddles. Top down, engine revving high and throwing the gated shifter through its paces is about as good as it gets!

Also, from a purely technical perspective, I've seen close to 140k miles on 360s with F1s, and let me assure you that if you plan to do any significant amount of driving, you're going to spend less $$ and have fewer down days with the 6-speed. 99% of the problems that 360s have are related to the ^@%@#! F1 pump and the clutch.

Anytime you need to buy an exotic, just ask Noah. Chances are he has had one of them that you want! With the 6 speed, can you have the softwear upgrade to alievate the clutch wear. I hear people with 15%+/- wear after 10,000 miles with the softwear upgrade!!! At that rate, 50,000 miles on a clutch is NOT unheard of, but is this only for F1?

there are very few things more enjoyable than driving a ferrari, top down, and hearing the clink of the metal-on-metal gated shifter when you have perfected your heel-toe downshifts. unless you plan to track the car, which i doubt, considering you want a spider, go for the 6 speed. Real stick shifts don't get outdated over time like the F1 systems do either, which will probably balance out the resale value in the long run.

Uhhh, huh? Clutch wear on a manual would be based on how much slip you use when you come off the clutch or how bad you butcher the gear changes.
