I think the first thing you need to do is OWN a Ferrari. But then you probably won't have time for all this typing, since you'll be fighting off the ladies with a stick.

    WOW!

First of all, your Maserati coupe performs better than a Z06? I'm not trying to be rude, but is that a joke? In what aspect of performance does the Maser outperform or even NEAR perform the Z06?

Secondly, Ferraris are just cars also. There's nothing magical about them like people think. Just high-priced technology and an exclusive badge. It's just physics and science. Enzo didn't leave a part of his soul in each Ferrari like people seem to think.

Thirdly, the reason a Ferrari will get more attention than a Corvette is because Corvettes are commonplace and people are familiar with them. A Ferrari is relatively rare and it represents an exclusive, expensive brand.

Now what if that Corvette was the Ferrari; produced in low numbers and cost a lot of money? People would give it the same attention.

There's nothing magical about that. It's quite simple. And it's the same reason most people favor Ferrari to Corvettes.

PLEASE don't tell me you don't actually own a Ferrari. If you don't the laughter will likely make me piss myself. Actually, please tell me you don't own one, because I would hate for people to associate me with some pompass ass who drinks the Kool Aid and thinks Ferraris are somehow untouchable in the automotive realm. I love Ferrari's, but you make it sound like sitting in one is the same as a 30 day long orgasm.

but now own Maserati's, need 4 seats, have wife and kids... She said no more two seaters so I bought the next best thing, and she got the 4 door version..

And yes my Maserati Coupe will run with a stock Z06 and it's a hell of a lot more luxurious ride...

CORVETTE C5 Z06 PERFORMANCE STATS AND SPECS

    60 - 0 mph(ft) 123
    Lateral Accelaration(g) 1.00
    Top Speed(mph/kph) 174.8/281.3
Credit for Corvette Z06 performance statistics goes to Road and Track(RT).

2002 Maserati Coupe Statistics Courtesty of Car and Driver..

4.7 seconds needed to reach 60 mph
The clock shows 110 at the end of a 13.2-second quarter-mile
With my sport springs I also match the g's in the corners...

So again, the Z06 vette is not that much car, rides like a old horse pulled wagon, etc..

02??? Hell, let's compare it to a 73 454 Vette with all the emissions crap. I think you should compare a C6 Z06 to it.

My Maserati on it's worst day is better than any Corvette on it's best day.... Not only the ride, the looks, the sound, all of it... I wouldn't own a stinking vette of any kind even it you gave it to me....

BTW, yes 02, paid 115k for it new. Paid about 124k for my wifes.. I will be upgrading to the new Gran Turismo here soon, when it arrives on the boat, trading in the coupe.. It makes a new vette look like a garbage truck... And the whole driving experience behind the new Gran Turismo is something the Corvette will never be able to come close to for all of eternity.... BTW, I have not found a vette yet that can catch me on the highway at top speed, they usually quit around 155 or so, I have had my car up to 175mph racing a modified charger SRT-8 whose doors I blew off the road...

You forgot to mention the power seats that are optional on Ferraris.

All the Corvette driver has to do is cross the border to Mexico to feel the exotic car feel from the masses. And if a Ferrari shows up who cares, you're are still cool as hell.

    I didn't say where either did I? ; - )

I don't race with the kids in the car, the wife, well that's a different story.....

We as a family usually drive from our home in Denver to our lake home in Grand Lake on the weekends during summer months in either her car or mine.. Berthod Pass is a lot of fun in the coupe...

See, we have different ways. My Wife and I take seperate flights when we travel without the kids. The reason being in case anything happened the kids would not lose both parents (even though the odds are very long that a plane would crash, much more likely to have a car accident). I can not think of racing or in any other way endangering my kids future by having them orphaned. I even gave up motorcycles when we started our family, although I miss having one.

You are absolutely the kind of guy that gives Ferrari a bad name. And Maserati now too. Good bye.

Off topic, but why the hell does being subscribed make people feel so Godly? The truth is that we generate money for the owner whether we are subscribed or not just by posting and being a user.

GrndLkNatv is for Grand Lake Colorado, the place my father moved us too when he retired from the USAF when I was 5 years old. My fathers family and my mothers family were all from Virginia, Father's from Roanoke, Mothers from Charlottesville... Anyway there are no real natives from Grand Lake, Colorado, population 278... Everybody has moved there from somewhere else but I have been there since March, 1970 and I am called a native...

Because that $15/year is big Ka-Ching. That's $0.04/day. Not chump change. You have to have some serious expendable income to justify that extravagance. It's from that high thrown that we can look down upon those poor unsubscribed users. ;) God I hope the wink wasn't necessary!

nowadays, most people buy ferrari because most important point is racing which makes the people proud...and they feel like racers by owning ferrari..but in real they never race..
and in MY OPINION it is ridiculous
Do not get me wrong...I love ferrari....I love classic cars and super ferraris.

Simons answer was better than mine will be...

Because I dont think $15 yr is too much to ask to support an incredible site. yes I know all users (okay most) users add value but its $15 !

Didnt mean to touch a nerve and offend you !

At this time I must return to my elitist perch in the subscribed section...carry on...
