Wow there must be a problem with that (your) particular system then. No exhaust system for the 355 in the standard format like the picture you posted (which has the same set up as Tubi and Capristo), should be difficult to fit. Can you exchange the unit for another?
What is not aligning the top pipe or the bottom two pipes? Or the top mounting brackets? I would guess its the top mounts maybe. Any more information?

What portion of it doesn't fit? The F355 is indeed a very painful fit -- whether its a Tubi, X-OST or anything. The presence of the center inlet adds a whole new dimension to the alignment process.

Make sure the cats are fully loose and the y-pipe loose. Then, hang the muffler and start tightening things incrementally. Some of the earlier manufactured ones were tougher to fit, but it seems the recent ones easier.

But if his mechanic is experienced at fitting Tubis like he said. then he would know how to adjust surely. No system including Tubi is a pain to fit if you know how to fit one you can fit them all. Unless there is a manufacturing problem.

    thanks again guys-
we heated it up and got it to fit - the top pipe was the culprit- aparently this is common as it was off about a half inch

I think he meant that he heated up by starting. Not with the torch. It took a while to get mine straight since I had to loosen everything up and work my way forward. Since when you turn the cats they go in a different angle it makes it hard. If you do both the x-ost and Hyperflow at the same time it's easy. The Hyperflows are smaller and easy to move around to get the fit right. The sound is worth the effort. I have yet to hear anyone say they have heard another Ferrari with a better sound than my 355.

I also put x-ost on my 456 and it will curl your toes it's so deep. It sets of car alarms everywhere I go.

Nope not all. I have fitted a few Capristos and Tubis to various 355s in my time. But never a X-ost.

Fitted a Tubi and an Xost to the 348 and the quality of the Tubi is light years ahead of the Xost not only on fit but also build and finish.

Personally, I have had no fitment issues with my X-OST---This is the first I have heard of a problem with the X-OST----There is a thread floating around here about Tubi problems. Several people have had problems with cracking welds on Tubis... So actually there have been more problems with Tubi than X-OST going by outspoken users here at Fchat....

My only isue was tweeking the tail pipes on the drivers side slightly. It was resting to close to the rear valance (fiberglass)...........I think the heat would have caused some issues. Other than that the freekin thing ROCKS!!!!!
Thanks for the recommendation Daniel............Im gonna do the fabspeed headers this winter. That combined with my test pipes should add to my already beautiful screeeeeeeeeeeem!! :) :) :)
