EVERYONE today had great ideas, suggestions, solutions and more. One thing that seems to be agreed upon is this thing needs to be every Saturday...same time....same place. Everyone totally understands that not everyone can make it every week although some will. Like I said, I want to go in the direction that works down the road but in my opinion we should keep it going in this location for the short term until we outgrow. Last weekend the small lot next to Belle Pastry wasn't nearly as full...but this weekend all of us did a great job of grabbing up prime real estate and we litterally had both sides between 102 & 103 lined. I may pull the big illegal move and do a "cone" job next Saturday so we can hog it up some more for any late arrivals. The mini drive over to site 2 was equally fun and we stired it up a bit rolling down there. The one thing I do like about this location, while not perfect for all, is that it's not a super busy street and you get a good vantage point from both sides...PLUS...and this is a big plus...you can really hear and see who's rolling in/out. Today I believe we had roughly 20-27 cars all total- Lambo, Ferrari, SLR, Lotus, Porsche, NSX and more and the mix was good. Between 102nd 103rd there are roughly 16 parking spots and again you've got the small lot. Keep in mind there are parking spots a little up and down on boths sides of the street but in front of Belle Pastry and accross the street is obvioulsy prime frontage.

Great turnout today too! I thought it went well but like Jason said, if this meet continues to grow then we're going to have to think about either moving to a different venue or start blocking off parking spots for late arrivers. Many folks who arrived late had trouble finding parking. I think we should think about adding a longer "drive" albeit full of scenery. I took quite a few pictures but I'm not sure why mine doesn't show up here. Feel free to take a look at them in my album. Overall, I thought it was a really good turnout for everyone.

Looks like a good turn out!

I like the location, and I plan on being there next week. Lot's of little side streets with safe parking including Bellevue Park, just one block North.

Nice photos of my bald head in the drive to Tullies. Maybe it's time for a hair piece. Does anyone know if they stay on when driving with the top down? <G>

You'd have to ask the lambo crew for that! LOL

Great turnout everyone -- great to see the familiar faces, and some new ones too.

Great event, I hope the momentum only picks up from here! Lot of nice cars and good seeing everyone and meeting some new folks! I won't promise that I'll be there every week, but I'll try to make it once in a while!

As a side benefit, I was able to prove to some folks that I still really do own a Ferrari!!

Thanks for pulling this together Jason, great idea!!

    Jason,
I think coning public parking spots is not a good idea. Both residents and merchants are NOT going to like that, and they will certainly contact Bellevue PD parking enforcement. I think we need to just deal with it, and consider moving to a different venue, perhaps downtown Kirkland or something.

Sounds good....I concur...and the potential black eye/attention it could bring.

What do you think of contacting the Bellevue PD about making it "sanctioned" summer events? They can block off part of the street for those 2 hours each Saturday. I'd think it wouldn't be a big deal since it's not active that time of the morning on Saturday and a lot of stores are closed. Besides, if word gets out, it might even help local businesses such as coffee shops with pedestrian traffic.

    Thoughts?

My father dropped by in his Lotus Elan around 9:30, but everyone (save for one Lamborghini) had already gone. He said he'll get there earlier next week.

Great album Jason! Thanks for posting! I particularly like the one of the Clyde Hill Police driving by, scanning the row of speed-limit-killers.

I was at a 6speedonline event earlier today and this meet (topic of this thread) was brought up repeatedly. I'll be there next week and think the turn out is going to grow quick. Personally, I love the time. I think that in a couple weeks, the businesses will get behind us (assuming we talk to them) and so would the police. C&C down in California even has a little fund raiser each week to support various things like the gilr scouts, etc. They also have a little sign that posts a couple of suggestions (i.e. no burnouts) so that the group stays int he good graces of business owners and cops.

    See you guys next week.

I think a "donation" to the Bellevue PD might go a loooong way in helping to secure parking and/or block off the streets...
