    Fricken SWEET!!!!

That was a good trick up your sleeve Oz.

So the 6061 is plenty hard huh? I'm guessing that these'll work for the 348 key too?

I dunno 'bout that... my 348 blank fits in my ignition, but my 355 blank doesn't. I'm down for a couple anyway if you make them - too cool!!!

Not anymore :( I gave up trying to be a rock star a couple of decades ago :D

Back in 1990, I had this really beautiful Gibson EB-0 bass - stolen :-(. I would love to find an EB-3 long scale:) to play thru my Ampeg B-15 Baby Bass Amp. However, my 1994 Fender P Bass does do justice to this sweet sounding, good old Ampeg tube amp:)

Off topic - sorry--------------- Now, back to whatever we were talking about :)

    Cheers, Hank

I think it has something to do with the thickness but may also be slotted differently too.....

Awesome .......... yeah I used to play lots as well ...... still have a tele and two Les Pauls ............... I only play when I have chick problems now .............. ... ;)

Valve ampeg ???? That is the stuff dude :)!!!!! ................. 'off topic' ..... justified .. ;)

......... they are mostly hand crafted now ..... so I am working on a way to get the process time down so they can be priced reasonably..... :)

But I will definately be adding a Titanium version to the catalog ......

Thickness looks the same; central slot appears to be deeper on the 348 blank. I'm assuming my other blank is a 355; I ordered it from Daniel when they ran out of 348 blanks and he thought they were compatible. Maybe I received the wrong blank??

Edit: Just send one down to me and I'll let ya know for sure ;)

I just have to ask - how doe they get cut and who will do it? It took me a while to find someone willing to do a steel one.

I'm having the same problem; a lot of mobile services will do it at a flat rate of $50 ~ $60 for a house call. I called Dixieline Lumber the other day and specifically asked if they would cut a steel automotive key. The answer was yes, I'll find out for sure when I take one in to get cut this weekend.

Id get VERY upset if someone stole my guitars. Although they can still be replaced very easily, my guitars now have "soul" and I wouldnt want to replace them. :D:D

What 'steel' ones are these?? Can they rust after they have been cut??

The 'goth key' blade is a high grade alloy ......... much stronger than a 'standard' house key............ but not as hard as steel...... it should be able to be cut by your local key shop :)

I believe all the OEM keys are steel; yours should be a lot easier to get cut :) Any hardware store that sells high-end residential or commercial locks should (in theory) be able to cut OEM keys since they would be dealing with steel commercial keys.

Now back to the topic at hand... when can we get 'em and where do we send the cash Goth??? :D
