Gus, Who is/are the advisors who recommended the Lambos with the salvage titles? Talk about cars with stories? I thought Euro was a big "story" but a salvage title? Come on. I think you should be buying wiser than salvage titles. Ron
I am late to the party but I like the question so here is what I would do on a "budget" 1) Lambo tractor 2) Lambo Motorcycle (a few were made - quite rare) 3) 350 GT 4) Espada Series 1 (very early year for historical purpose) 5) Muira SV 6) LP400 (1974 as much as possible) 7) LP500QV (85 Euro Downdraft) 8) Diablo SE 30 Jota version 9) Diablo GT (this is an amazing car) If you really have funds to burn: 10) Murcie Reventon I'll have that, I'll be in heaven.
Gustan, After a bit of thought, here is my $0.02 worth on what I would do if it was me. (Your collection is based on this thread, your profile list, and the thread about your recent purchase) Current Collection (?): 86 Countach 88 Countach 97 Diablo Roadster 98 Diablo SV 99 Diablo Roadster 01 Diablo 6.0 04 Gallardo 03 Murcie 07 Murcie LP640 ====================== Things I would add to the list: * Muria SV - The 1st Supercar * 350GT * Espada * LM002 - Had it not been for the price this could have been "THE Army truck" (Take that Hummer!) Things I would change: * Trade the 99 Diablo Roadster for a Diablo SVR - Call Roy, he has one * Trade the 01 Diablo 6.0 for a Diablo 6.0 SE - Call Roy, he has one of these as well. Jota if possible * Trade the 04 Gallardo for a Gallardo Superleggara - Call Roy, he has one of these as well * Trade one of the Countachs for a Countach 25th Anniv. * Trade the 03 Murcie for a Murcie Roadster - Call Roy, he has one of these as well * Trade the 07 Murcie LP640 for a LP640 SV when it comes out & the time is right ========================== So, when all set and done... Muria SV 350 GT Countach (keeping your favorite of the two you already have) Countach 25th Anniv. 96 Diablo SVR 97 Diablo Roadster 98 Diablo SV (unless the VS one ever becomes available) 01 Diablo SE30 (Jota) 04 Gallardo Superleggara 0X Murcie Roadster 07 Murcie LP640 (to be replaced by LP640 SV) Espada LM002 13 cars total. If I had to trim the list down to a "Top 10" I would eliminate the Espada, the non-anniv Countach and Gallardo SL.
Good list, but personally I would scratch the Reventon, add LM 002 for $1.5 million I'd rather buy this : Only 1 made, VERY rare Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Taffy, they actually made 4 of these, one for Messrs Spazzapan and Silveira also, and another for Wolf the following year...
There wasnt an officially designated factory model name for these Wolf-Dallara specials. Generally (with some exceptions) the modifications up from the LP400 were the wheels-arch spats, rear wing, & Campagnolo "Bravo" wheels shod with the new Pirelli P7s. However, only 0202 & 0222 had the new parallel-linked rear suspension... JS
I would like to nominate Gus for the Lamborghini Father Theresa Award, he is always thinking about others and how we can help others. we love you Gus !!!!
Roy, The intent was not to really sound like a commercial for Cats Exotics, but it just seemed like a simple solution to add or make changes to Gus' collection, as he is familiar with you and your business. I do not expect Gus to follow my list, but it does seem like you would be one to talk to in order to make a quick change to one's collection. Off topic: How many cars do you normally stock vs are on consignment & not on the property?
The Reventon was optional in the list. But I can see that it could be better swapped with a truely historical car like the 400S1 Wolf or Ferruccio 400S or a cannonball car. Problem is to acquire the car, but at $1M I guess the opening is definitly there. The LM002 has no historical importance IMO, other than being a SUV like truck which are popular nowadays. I am not putting down the truck but it was initially a off shoot for the middle east market. But everyone has different opinions. At the end it comes down to defining the theme for the collection (what you like vs. historical significance for the marque vs cars own by famous people). I'll go for historical significance 1st but hey any lambo in a garage is a feast
Seriously you need some proper lambo's: 350GT P400 - sorry Joe the early ones seem so pure.. Islero S - the pick of them all!! LP400 - need I say more.. LP400S - mmm.. lowbody - particulary the 4 originals built off the lp400 as mentioned by Joe but without the wing!! I don't understand this fascination with the later ones - polluted by Chrysler, Indons and Audi.. (although Top Carbon I am coming around to the early Diablos..) John
At $1M, i would go for the real one off cars, like the 400 Monza (which was bought for a bargin 3 years ago), Urraco Bob, Flying Star 2 and so on. The Wolf cars i can understand that they are sought after they are icons, but the Cannonball car, i dont know.
Thanks Roy. And if I am ever fortunate enough to start working on my own "Lambo collection" I shall look you up.
