ABC models recently released a 1:43 scale model of the Ferrari 208GT4 Bertone Spider. Since there never was an official spider conversion of the 208GT4 (or 308GT4), who did the conversion (Stramann, Bertone himself)?. Is this a one-off or has there been a limited serie? Who has more information about this car?

This one-off was indeed done by Bertone

Note the air-inlet - normally behind the rear side window -

has been moved to the front of the rear wheel

    The chassisnr is 13956

Originally bodied this way? Or fist as normal 208 GT4 and later a rebody?

Probably done as an original. It would be much easier (and cheaper) to cut the body up and modify it before welding it onto the chassis.

In any case, a full convertible does not suit this design. A targa would be the best...

I know, and because it's a Bertone, I think it is original, and Joop comment on one-off indicates that too. But I know of several 400/412 which are cut later on. I hope to visit one sunday and take pictures

I agree. Would love to see a photochop of this car as a targa.

This car is indeed a conversion, based on a standard body.

As a matter of fact it is for sale - follow this link

    and have 17.950 GBP ready...

Fantastic. Never seen this car before. Did see, once, a 308 Cabrio, but never a GT4 Cabrio! Tnx for the pictures and the link :)

Both Vincent's and Joop's pictures are from the Bonham's Ferrari auction at Gstaad last December.

Can't remember if the car sold at that auction but I believe it did and went for little money.

Seems like a car that is perpetually moving around the traders circuit.
