hey, at least she puts the top down. My wife thinks it's either to cold to put the top down, or, when it is warm, it's too hot and the wants to use the A/C.

    So I disconnected the A/C.. :)

Each to their own. ALOT of spider owners here in DK has the top down and the windows up at the same time.

You know, i don't mind that as much as when we are in the car together and i have mine down in 80 degree weather and she has hers up.Both up or down don't look as bad as one up and one down.
I probably just have to get a life and the fact that i can admit that means i probably don't need the counseling :)

You could always try a good nuggie...If her hair is already screwed you have half a chance...then again the other half a chance is about you being screwed...or perhaps not...ever

    Hmmmm...I see your point

Have you told her that you think her hairstyle looks like ****?

Joking aside, you sound like a very superficial and obsessive-compulsive person.

Does it really matter how it looks?

I doubt if many people notice whether the windows are up or down.

+1. 'Windows up' is stylin and for me, makes the driving a more intimate affair. Probably feel differently if I lived further south, it's just too cold here for added buffeting.

lol, that sounds so familiar. Let me guess, you are too scared to confront her because of what she might say. (which you know to be true) So now the choices are:

    a) Close the top and turn on the AC. That way you'll look completely ridiculous cruising around with a canvas topped Ferrari with sunglasses.

    b) roll up your window to achieve symmetry. Now people are wondering why you even bother rolling the roof down.

lol, I think it's time for conseling. Personally I try not to look at the passenger side window. Maybe you should disconnect the window motor control on the passenger side of the car.

I drive windows open when it's cold and have the heat on full blast. When I have a cabrio, the windows were never up unless it was cold and I had the heat on too.

Haha! I knew a guy in high school - he'd get so angry when he saw people driving around with the top down and windows up that he'd yell at strangers: "Roll down your windows!!! You look like an idiot!!!"

But dang....in the convertibles I've had, I've noticed that I often roll the windows up when I get on the freeway, and back down when I get off. Not for my hair (what hair?) but either trying to stay warm, or so I can hear the radio.

It helps to roll up at high speeds in the event of a phone call, so you can hear/less wind noise.......

When I had a convertible I would do the same thing in the heat of summer and cold of winter...not for my hairstyle...but so the a/c would keep me cool and the heater would keep me warm...if you are comfortable with yourself, why worry about what others think anyway? They're probably just jealous because they don't have a drop top anyway...

With such a great car....it seems that the asymmetry caused by one up and one down is harldly anything to get up in the air about, and it's highly doubtful that anyone's going to go.."Wow! What an incredible car.....except....the windows look goofy with one up and one down." One could be nosy and ask if you've also observed a similar lack of symmetry when your wife rolls up the toothpaste tube. No offense here but the term "anal retentive" certainly comes to mind. As has been well said.."It's not what people think that bother us, it's what we THINK they think that bothers us." I don't think you need counseling.....just discuss it with your wife, openly. "When you have your window up, and I have my window down....it makes me feel....." Like that.

Here's my experience. If you've owned convertibles for a few years, driving with the top down and the windows up is standard fare and very practical for any convertible, targas too. If it's just a tad chilly, like early in the morning or late in the evening, just rolling up the windows is far more preferable than putting the top up. Especially with highway driving, having the windows up dramatically reduces the amount of wind in the car at speed. All of this with an eye towards being able to keep the top down as much as possible.
