They have a streetracing section ha ha. The dem thing made me seriously lol. Prius are so stupid there are cars that are just as efficent in fuel consumption but not so flashey like a prius is. Dare I call a priuse flashey but its more of a status symbol than anything anymore.

This weekend, as I cut the grass next to the 230' of stockade fence I put up next to my neighbor, he sprayed me with his hose. (not THAT hose)

I almost got off the John Deere but wisdom prevailed and I ignored that ignorant F^@$er. (He's pissed because I didn't let him use his back hoe to rip down trees/shrubs on my property!)

I too am having Howitzers mounted on my H2 to pick off the toy cars that the wind blows in front of me. Seriously though. A friend of mine just bought a "Smart" car this weekend. $16K loaded. Let's look at the math. Average mileage for a family car- 1000 miles per month. Smart car ( 40mpg)=25 gallons per month=$100 ( with $4/gal gas for easy math).
    Average car ( Not an H2)- 1000 miles ( 20mpg)= 50 gallons= $200 per month.

Average monthly savings? $100. Is that worth risking you or your family members health?

No. If a Smart gets t-boned or gets hit head-on at any speed, you are almost guaranteed a fatality. Hell, I'd rather ride a motorcycle than a Smart.

I am waiting for legislation that requires drivers of "Smart" cars to wear helmets ( just like some states with regards to motorcycles).

    To quote Toyota:

""Toyota has a comprehensive battery recycling program in place and has been recycling nickel-metal hydride batteries since the RAV4 Electric Vehicle was introduced in 1998. Every part of the battery, from the precious metals to the plastic, plates, steel case, and the wiring, is recycled. To ensure that batteries come back to Toyota, each battery has a phone number on it to call for recycling information and dealers are paid a $200 'bounty' for each battery."

Nothing wrong with hybrids IMO, just different strokes for different folks. I really want one myself.

I'm kind of looking at SUV drivers these days as I do smokers - out of step with everything that's going on. I also own a vanilla-type SUV (Highlander).

drive a used car. It takes much more energy to produce a new one.

On the flip side, my Yamaha FZ1 gets over 40mpg, tops out at 150mph, does 0-60 in 3 secs and uses fewer tires and less oil than a car.

On a serious note, instead of everybody going Hybrid crazy we could most likely do some good by slowing down a little. (Fire suit on) Think about it, when we drive our everyday cars most of the time we are making a local trip and only a small part of the time are we doing a large trip (hundreds of miles). So lets say local stuff makes up 90% of your driving. Local stuff like going to work, or the store to pick up some milk etc. So if your on the Hwy. and you are only going 5 or 6 miles going like 80mph is only going to get you there a few min. earlier. If you are that pressed for time leave the house 5 min. earlier. Everybody is screaming about gas prices but I still see people on the Pky everyday driving like they are going to a fire. if where you are going is hundreds of miles away I can understand pushing it a little bit. Nobody wants to be on the Rd. all day, but local stuff Ive been trying to take a nice even pace. and like I said if I have to I get out of the house 5-10 min earlier.

A dual meaning with HI CO2

    ;)

I don't think it's the hybrids that really annoy anyone, it's the whole hybrid mentality. The "I'm better than you" sort of deal.

The enviro's and government are going about energy in the wrong way. We need to be looking and drilling for more oil everywhere, especially here in the states. As well as doing the same with all of the other sources of energy being developed and yet to be discovered/thought of.

Living in the world we live in now, everything/everyone is viewed as an immediately solution. Nothing happens over night, and I think a lot of people don't know that, or just don't understand it. I'm guessing it'll be at least 15 years before there is another energy source that will be cheap, readily available, and consumed by all or most world-wide. It's stupid to not continue to get as much oil out of the ground as we can, until the next big thing is found to be truly expandable. Until everyone agrees on that, things are just going to get worse.

I never said there was something wrong with Hybrids...On the contrary, I specifically apologized to people that own them for the right reasons. My concern is with the arrogant bastages that feel empowered to show me the error of my ways and impose there will upon me.

I will agree that it should be differant strokes for differant folks as soon as you agree my stroke is no more "out of step" than yours. I have 2 kids, 1 plays elite level hockey throughout New England. He's a Goalie. I own an F-car that I choose to bring to meets from time to time and allow others to enjoy it but preffer not to devalue it with excessive mileage. I own my company and as the president, bookkeeper, and labor force I regularly need to haul heavy equipment and tools to various construction sites. Show me a 4 seater that can also handle a goalies hockey equipement and tow 5000 lbs and not get stuck in knee deep mud and I will consider it. To presume I am "out of step" is pretty arrogant don't you think. I have yet to see a Prius at any contruction site. Hmmm...maybe that is part of the answer.

I'd love a high mileage machine too. Its just ridiculously impractical for my needs. My Yukon can burn E85. Can't that be close enough for now.

You have a valid use for a truck - lots of people do not. I'm not exception as - like I said - own an SUV myself. Seeing a lone housewife driving around the mall in an Escalade XLT reminds me of a smoker, kind of out of style right now, that's what I meant.

Really sorry to hear this, it really says a lot about hybrid drivers. I don't know how I would react if someone did that to me while driving.

    Fair enough

FYI...I don't use the truck regularly. I average 55k miles per year and choose to use my Audi for daily drives. The 2.0 liter turbo gets me around 30MPG which obviously saves me BooKoo bucks. This leaves the Yukon for my wife who mostly putters around town and to the mall. Guess what...she's also a smoker.
