What material are the F1 Paddles made out of (the factory ones)?

Thanks. I assumed so, but thought I would ask. It seems the factory paint or coating on these always looks nicked over time on all the cars I see. I was thinking about trying to replicate the aluminum look of the console, gauge trim, lower door panels and HVAC control panel trim. I wonder if bead blasting the paddles would achieve this, or would I need to paint or otherwise coat them in some finish to match? I did a search and could not find where anyone else had done this.

CF replacements are always a nice touch...

It seems that most people either repaint them or go CF (my choice). You could bead blast them and get a pretty close look to the other panels.

I did think about the CF, but since I have a dark colored interior, I do not think CF looks as good as it would on something with a lighter or two-toned interior, and I do not plan to CF anything else in the car, so it might look a little odd. I also might repaint, but I thought of a more permanent fix being to remove the paint. The ones from Ulitmate pedals were the thing that got me thinking:

In general, I agree re: CF trim; however, the CF paddles look really nice behind the perforated portion of the steering wheel. Assuming you have a dark colored wheel, the CF paddles can be a nice touch.

If you want the same look as the metal in the dash then you need to strip the old paint and repaint with the matching silver paint.

I think leaving them bare aluminum is not going to match anything..

Or just use some black rubber paint and a small paintbrush and touch up the scratches.
