yeah, funny thing about that was I saw it on autotrader first and was "talking" to the dealership about it when I see it pop up on ebay and I quickly put a deposit down on it while I set up an inspector to go check it out.. I was afraid that someone was going to "buy it now" from under me while I was in negotiations.. this was actually my second attempt at a purchase- the first car (still for sale on autotrader) had a bad carfax so I passed.. it was also black and tan...

Bought my 94 348 spider with 53k on it, and IF I sell, it will probably be with well over 100k on her. It's a toy, so won't get miles like a DD, but neither does my DD since I work from home. I didn't purchase my dream to watch it in the garage while I'm having a beer, I bought it to enjoy, both from a driving and a maintenance standpoint. Of course, at the present, I wish there was more driving and less maintenance, but it takes time for a car and her new owner to get acquainted... :)

Hope you will join in the NW FCA activities this summer, we have a ton of stuff going on!

    http://www.nwrfca.org/events/

You can attend an event or two without joining the Club, as my guest, but if you like it (you will) please join up!

"airborne ranger"? Don't you have to be airborne qualified to get a ranger tab? ;)

it was my pleasure my friend.. I had a blast and know a lot of guys that are still "in".

    F355spider:
Thanks for the invite.. I am definitely interested. I'll check out that link here in a minute.. to answer your question.. it is "preferred" that you already complete airborne school before attending Ranger school however, it is not mandatory. There were/are several airborne operations that are incorporated in the course- but if you are not airborne qualified (known as a "leg" due to their primary form of travel)than you would get put on ****ty details while the rest of us were out completing the missions. these are often overlooked based on MOS (military occupational specialty) - for instance- if you are a cook or a clerk than the airborne operations are overlooked because you will probably never see a "real life" airborne operation. The military sees Ranger school as a leadership course and offers it up to almost anyone that qualifies for a slot.. Being assigned to a Ranger Battalion- you must be airborne qualified first and foremost before even being considered. which may be what you are referring to.

Private message me if anything strikes your fancy. The new gathering is Saturday mornings on Main Street in "old Bellevue". From 7am to 9am you will find a nice gathering of Ferraris and other exotic cars. June 13th I am leading a group to Vancouver, BC for a Ferrari get together with our Canadian hosts, including a drive on Saturday, dinner Saturday night, and a big Italian car show in North Vancouver on Sunday.

(thanks for the explanation, I don't know much about military stuff, but a bunch of friends I work with at www.insightstraining.com are former or active guys from SF/Rangers....it just came up once when I asked why they didn't have an "airborne" tab along with the SF and Ranger tabs on their shoulder and they explained it was redundant to have the third tab since you would have to be airborne qualified to get the Ranger and SF tabs...sounds like that may not always be the case...)

yeah I saw that thread about the saturday mornings in Bellevue- I'll definitely attend.. After re-reading what you wrote- I assumed you were coming off cracking wise- but I try not to jump to conclusions..lol but it is actually very common (more times than not) to see a SF long tab above a Ranger tab above an Airborne patch. this is refered to as "the Christmas tree" in the business. But in regards to the Ranger Battalion unit insignia (scroll) the airborne "wings" are worn on the chest and not on the sleeve because- you're right- as a unit we were all airborne qualified... but I suppose you are wondering why my screen name is Airborne Ranger when you're saying that one must be airborne while being a ranger.. so its a bit redundant- is this correct? well that's what we are by title. no different than Navy SEALs, who obviously are in the Navy..
    but enough about me..
I cant wait to get my car and drive the hell out of it! and look forward to seeing and meeting you guys this summer.
