What was your first Ferrari sit / rode / drove ?

308 GTS

 

308 GTS. It was parked in the "yard" of Hunt's Automotive, Florence, AL. It was 1986. The door to the F-car was open so I got in. Sure, it was wrong of me, but I was a kid and hello.... a Ferrari with the doors open! I was so young that I didn't care! Anyway, wasn't long after that that a mechanic came out and said "This Ferrari is a customer's car." Needless to say I got out. I've wanted one since then.... But a 328 not a 308!

Drove: Nothing until I own one and it's my own a** on the line.

That first ride was several years ago, and I've since been in a 355 spider, 360 spider, 550, F40, and an Enzo, all thanks to the very generous members here.

My first and only Ferrari - my 1997 456GTA. I bought it without telling my wife who has since accepted my fascination even though she doesn't really understand it. Last year I added a 1980 Maserati Merak SS and should probably tell her about it someday }>

Second ride was in another member's Challenge Stradale that completely ruined any chance of future fun, no matter what car it may be...

It is amazing to see how many first drives results in first buy of same car! Driving a Ferrari = Buying the Ferrari!

 

Sat in a 308 GTSi when it was new, that started my whole Ferrari passion.
Then some 20 years later I drove a 308 GTSi on hopes of buying it, turned out to be a bad apple so I let it go. As great opportunity would present itself, I would find myself in the drivers seat of a 246 Dino, 355 F1 and 512m(#42 of 75). Rode the passenger seat of 328 GTS, 360 and an early TR. Probably some other fcars I can't remember right now at 3AM, but moreso than the Enzo, would love to drive the F40 at some point, and write a killer detailed driving experience here on Fchat!

 

my first ( and only ) sit , was when i was a child in 1984, at a autoshow in Nice in France
but several years later when a saw the pic my father taked this day
i can see that in fact it was a detomaso panthera !!

The first Ferrari I ever

sat in: 308 GTS (US Spec) back in the mid-1990s

Rode in: F430 Scuderia (GOOD GOD!!! - about a month ago)

Drove: 1979 308 GTB (a few weeks ago)


I have also sat in Testarossas, 348s, 355s, Mondials, and THE Dino 166/206P (dang that was a tiny car)

Here's one for ya: First sat in and drove a 328. But the same day I sat in one other car, a 355 GTS. That was 2005.

I just brought home the very same 355 today.

Small world, eh?

The first Ferrari that I sat in / rode in a 308 that my father had for about a month when I was little.

The first Ferrari that I drove was an Enzo, owned by a very generous / crazy friend.

 

Responded to an ad in San Diego in '69, went to see a '59 250 GT. Hooked on Ferraris since then, absolutely entranced after hearing the V12 noises and the "ripping canvas" sound of the exhaust. Even though the price was right, was in the Navy and couldn't afford it. Or should I say, couldn't afford the upkeep it deserved.

 

Was a:

1) 512 BB er
2) 348 red
3) 355 red

First one I ever drove was the 355 I own now.

*But my friends uncle who had a new 1987 white Lotus Turbo Esprit modified took me for a ride, which made an huge impression on me back then.

 

First sat and rode in a Daytona.

First drove a 308.

 

First sat in a: 355 yellow spider and later a 575M

First rode in a: None to date

First drive in a : None yet, but an F430 this coming weekend!!
