Should NSW have tried harder? Australia axed as an A1GP venue AAP - June 10, 2008, 4:11 pm Team Australia boss Alan Jones is determined to resurrect Australia as an A1GP host after Sydney's Eastern Creek was dumped from the list of venues for the 2008-09 season. Eastern Creek and Brno in the Czech Republic have been dropped from the calendar, which starts in Italy's Mugello on September 21. Jones blamed the NSW Government for not fighting hard enough to retain the venue on the calendar after Sydney's Eastern Creek hosted a race in each of the first three A1GP seasons. "The fact of the matter is that A1 has been increasing in its interest internationally over the last three years," Jones told AAP.
The NSW Labor govt is utterly incompetent, substantially corrupt and intellectually bankrupt. We have a new ministerial crisis every two weeks. We had a premier for 10 years who didn't even have a driving license!
Just remember which party introduced road tolls Tho they been showing that Shell ad again(shortened version) on TV and what a wasted opportunity for free advertisement by not letting them use the Harbour Bridge A1GP isnt really that popular, not really a loss. Here is the chance of Adel to make a comback
If AJ wants Oz back on the calender he should stop treating his A1GP seat holder status as a fixit for his financial probs and route back to champers and the 1st class life style. Start getting some effort into the team and results. Aussies like to be on winners and so do pollies. Much easier to get political support if the Oz car has supporters. Lets go out to EC and pay money to watch our guy come last? Good chance a Ferrari will win next year.
AJ shouldn't of never sold his trophies That's wat I miss about F1(on ch9), AJ rambling on about stuff
This year A1GP axed. Will Melbourne's (Australia's) F1 GP be renewed after next year? WRC already gone - will it return? At least MotoGP seems fairly safe at the moment.
Would've thought alls well at this end. Not sure about the politics back in the states though. Like the new avatar, Mr BJ, sir. (I feel such a noob in here) Planning a fishing trip or viking burial?
1: Unlikely. Needs to run at night, otherwise it's gone. And once it's gone, It won't be back, (ever?) 2: No, very slim chance, not in the next 5 years anyway. After WA decided to drop Rally Oz, both ACT & Queensland were mooted as alternatives, neither state would get behind it and underwrite it though. 3: What is Moto GP? Seriously, should be OK, doesn't use public money, runs on a track that doesn't inconvenience the public. M
Apparently the Bahrain track uses enough juice to light a street from Dubai to Moscow. Peter Garret would be apoplexic.
hella designed a completely portable setup/knockdown system which could be used. cost per year would be $5m....chump change really, but the environmental side cant be ignored
