355/360

355/360 are nearly on par in the performance stakes from what I have read about the guys that have driven/owned both.

355 looks better than 360 IMO. Sounds better too. Although the 360 still sounds great with a Tubi etc.

All comes down the personal preference I think mate. I would stick with the 355, cause I love the shape. But I would suggest driving the 355 again and drive a 360 and see which one gets you feeling funny on the inside and buy it.

First up let me say what an excellent idea and i congratulate you on making this decision, although will the Mondi be for sale?

When i purchased mine i looked at both the 360 and the 355, we can agree the 360 is newer and is on par with the 355 for performance, we can agree that the 355 looks and sounds better, we can agree the the 355 is the last of an era for Ferrari. The 355 is more car, it is more of a go kart a true fun toy that is nimble and fast, not only to drive but to look at. In all honestly i brought the 355 because it was the car i always wanted from the first time i saw it, i get a fuzzy feeling whenever i see one, including my own. The 360 does not have that effect on me, not even close.

As Pap said, drive them both, the are both absolutely fantastic cars and will be dream machines to own, which one makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Also in my opinion the 355 will pass the 360 in value in the next year or two, not that that is a consideration for me but its always nice to own a car that is not going down in value like a sinking ship.

If thats the case the old supply over demand should come in. i.e. better for the buyer than the seller.

If it was money it would definetly be a 355 Berlinetta.

360 is definitely faster, though...if that matters. it probably doesn't....they're both too fast anyway.

the difference in running costs appears to be marginal....despite what people claim about the 360 being cheaper for belt changes.

either way, it's not a bad decision to have to make

I think overall the 355 costs more to maintain. Engine out services and cracked headers are not cheap. Neither is the $18K F1 pump. Haha. Plus side is that clutch is a 2 hour job.

The 360 does have in car belt changes and exhaust variators should have all been changed out under warranty.
Clutch takes a day to replace, but other than that, it is one of the most reliable Ferraris ever built they reckon.

Being in the UK, I get to see loads of these. In addition, a friend of mine, Alastair Clements, is the deputy editor and road tester for Classic & Sports car magazine, and I speak with him about this frequently.

His feedback to me is that the 360 is a better car, much more modern, and the first Ferrari that has been built with real quality control in all facets. It is noticeably faster, despite the modest horsepower advantage, though weight is also surprisingly close due to lightweight materials.

For what its worth though, despite the opinion that the 360 is the better car, he has said to me on every occasion that he would buy the 355.

Personally, and I would wholeheartedly agree that this is subjective, but the 355, while I used to think it was just the best shape I'd ever seen, is now starting to look dated to me, whereas the 360 is really growing on me. I've already made my mind up, and when I sell my current car, there will be a 360 as a replacement.

Hard to like the 360 headlights.
430 light shape is better, imho. Got it right second try.

 

yah, 430 front lights i prefer but the rear end is awkward
