Getting closer. Speaking of unauthorised use this car dealer is using P 4/5's image without authorisation. My lawyers are on it. http://www.chicagomotorcars.com/showroom/1127/template/dealer_info
I had no idea authorization for modelcars could be such a complicated matter. I was tempted to buy a kit of P4/5 to have built by a professional builder, but I don´t want to have an unauthorized model.
To the owner Jim, Just wanted to say thanks for being such a good contributor on this forum. I hope one day I can see your amazing car in person. It is nice to see you are a true car guy and a humble one at that. I hope one day I too would have an opportunity to buy my dream car. Thanks from Canada. J
The bike portion was in this thread. It was in the between pages 60-80. I dont really feel like looking. Jim, I dont know what the last bid on that bike was but if it DOES come with the sticker, I will offer 10k and you let me drive the car Sounds like a great deal! Ha, RIGHT! Anyways, she's still beautiful Jim and I hope to see you around one day! Take it easy bud! Best, PerryC
Shorter/Lower/lighter subframes and roof structure. At some point we'll make the front subframe even lighter.
Yeah they are. What are you listening to on the ipod? Also, what is that "E" button to the left of it under the radio?
Hi Jim, Are there rear reflectors on your car or are they not required in NY? I see only the turn/brake red section and the white reverse section of the rear lights. Just curious. Thanks, Manny
The system in P 4/5 is the same one they use in F1 cars. It's a Carbon Fiber system that generates Fire Suppressant when you arm the system and push that button. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mB7Jl__o7B4
I have to say sir that I am proud to see such an avid Ferrari enthusiast taking so much time out his busy schedule to answer questions by what is probably made up of the general public. You are a great provider of information for such a rare car, and I have to say that we are genuinely lucky to have such an opportunity to speak with you about your project. Having never seen the car in person myself, I have to say the pictures (as they probably do not do justice) still inbed emotions in me that I cannot deny every single time I see it! It is such a beautiful car, and I am extremely jealous. Congrats on keeping the design a one-off as I have heard recently the Sultons have had their eye on getting replicas made. Having said that, I would love to see the car myself, but unless you bring it down to Road Atlanta, it will probably be a while. Thanks so much!
Now that would really be something! You know if PF can build the P4/5 they could engineer something like that.
I'm going to drive her for a year or so, take some notes and then change a few things. Nothing major as she really works very well. Cheers
Now when you say change a few things do you mean going back to Pininfarina, Ferrari, or a reputable shop and having them do the work or are you and others going to be doing these things yourself. From what I've gathered you have many resources at your disposal just curious what path you would follow.
This five and a half minute video has just been posted on LotusTalk from the 2-Eleven which followed P 4/5 at Goodwood FOS. Sound isn't that great but its fun to watch Jim driving in the rain! The passenger in the Lotus is Patrick Dempsey. I'm going to have to get to that event sometime soon!
