    There is already a thread about this started a few weeks ago in another section...I think it was agreed this was applied with one of those "wraps" like is done for advertising on VW Beetles.

    There is an M3 that ive seen that is painted chrome. Why would this have to be a wrap?

    Its actually done by a company called Foil A Car out of Germany, it is a film but very interesting. It looks like real chrome when applied, they also have a ton of colors, very spendy to do though.
