I don't want to start a big thing here, and it sounds like you know what you're doing, but I'm a motor guy, and the first thing that entered my mind when I read that the car had been sitting for five years was "I wonder if he put new belts on it again". I'd hate to see a belt go away again after all of that!

Your car was on fire already once. Avoid it doing so again by methodically checking your ignition system, the connections and all the components. If at any point with a warm cat you start missing a bank, you're asking for it.
Check the most obvious things like caps/rotors, the coils, pick-ups and the Digiplex units (and their earth) to make absolutely sure you always fire on both banks.
The K-Jet system is very reliable if kept clean. There's a strong possibi9lity that you have a lot of cr*p in there, so clean it out properly.
If you are uncertain about anything in the system, take that cat out and put a test-pipe in to trouble shoot. (I have no cat on my Euro car, but I suppose this can be done)

The only way to keep these cars running properly is by doing the job correctly and thouroughly first time sround. Get a lay-out of the system you're working on and work methodically from one end of the chain to the other.

And yes, change the belts again, that was a great tip!

    Good luck.

Do a search on "RPM TDC Flywheel". Should get you a reasonable number of threads to wade thru (~40) with more (functional) information than just the DC resistance (~700 Ohms) which only gives 1/2 the story -- if measures "bad", the sensor is "bad" and can be replaced without regret, but if measures OK, you still really don't know if it's working or not.
